Has anybody seen those reports about the denture pastes can cause nerve damage? I've used Fixodent since around 1971, and all along I've thought that I have Sciatica. I'm worried that it's from the Fixodent.

If fixodent has a lot of chemicals in it then that might be a problem...
always read labels of everything that has contact with you even shampoos and deordants to
laundry detergents...if Clorox gets mixed with things it can produced poisonous gases...
I sure hope you can find a safer product to use for your dentures..
I hope you can get a low pain day soon...

Apparently, it's the zinc that's in it.

Potise, I looked this up on the web here, and there are many reports on it. You can find all the information you need on it there.

One common thread I noticed about most all of the reports were, that it was talking about people who used excessive amounts of the Fixodent

If this is the case with you, then it might be possible to have neuropathy problems from it.

As always, it is best to discuss this with your DR. Let us know what you find out, as this is an interesting subject.

SE wink

This site has news articles as well as updates and info about side effects and lawsuits. http://www.yourlawyer.com/topics/overview/Denture-Cream-Zinc-Poisoning. These side effects may also be linked to Poligrip so make sure if you're using either of these denture creams to talk to your doctor and switch to their zinc free formulas.

Dentures usually require a denture cream to attach to an individual's gums. Fixodent lawsuit claims cream could cause nerve damage. A new lawsuit has been filed against the makers of Fixodent. The initial research was done by an ABC News investigation. The lawsuit is located on the allegation that Fixodent could possibly be poisoning customers. The secondary allegation is the company did not warn consumers.
