Hello to the wonderful Chronic Pain Family !!! I haven't posted in awhile because things have been going pretty well , so I've just tried to support other family members for the most part , But I have a little good news . Today for the first time in perhaps 2 years I walked freely , without a walker , roplator or 2 canes or even one . It was very moving for me , I first walked around the apt and it felt ok . I then decided to try and walk to the corner store about 2 blocks ,but what was for me an insurmountable distance . And I was able to accomplish it , I am so pleased , miracles do happen my wonderful friends , whatever your ailment don't give up hope . For 2 years + I suffered horrible pain , loss of my independance , depression , loss of confidence and was suicidal . Finding HW in February was a godsend and the friends I've made here to a great extent enabled me to carry on , and see that the caring support of sincere , good-hearted folks can make all the difference . I was even ready to accept my condition because the family here helped me see that its your heart that matters not your ailment . I wanted to share this news because you all played a vital role in my being able to get here , I couldn't have done it without you all , I love you all and my life is so much fuller and happier because your in it . Thanks for listening , your friend always Mikel

I am so happy for your Mikel.  You have your life back!!!  Miracles do happen and it couldn't have happened to a more deserving person.
I am so happy you found HW and that some of us here were able to say a positive word or two to help you along the way.
Take it easy, but keep up the good work my friend.
All my best!

That is great news and I am sure a wonderful feeling to experience. I do hope that you are like my very good friend and able to walk or just move around without being in that horrible pain that puts dark circles under your eyes. His dark circles are gone and he is leading a normal life again. He even managed to go to Italy and and do a lot of sight seeing which involved a lot of walking. That new hip gave him his life back and I do hope yours does the same.

Mikel, thank you for posting this and congratulations!!!! It has been amazing following your journey in the short time I've been at HW, and seeing you go from almost immobile to this...what an amazing tribute to your perseverance and determination, and the support of the family you've made here.

I hope you continue to improve daily until one day, you can look back at where you were and then see how far you've come. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: There is ALWAYS hope!!
