Ouch. I am so tired of this unrelenting facial pain, it is exhausting and wears me down. It is like my head is in a grid, I just want a break from it, it has been nearly seven years and there seems to be no end in sight. I can't even have a good cry.

I'm sorry to hear the pain is so horrible. What type of facial pain do you have?

I have Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia/Odontalgia and it is a living nightmare.

Hi ER, it is 2am here so I am not making too much sense, getting sleepy.

I have Burning Mouth Syndrome with Trigeminal distributions. You are right, it is a living nightmare. I am sorry to hear about your plight too. Do you ever get some relief? What prognosis have you been given, I can't seem to feel too positive about any cure on the horizon.

I'm so sorry that your pain is flairing. Have your tried seeking help with
a pain management psychologist ? I wish I could take your pain away,
Maybe give some relaxing techniques a try or reading a book, anything
you can think of to use as a distraction from the pain...
hope you can get a low pain day soon...

((((((((Radles))))))))))). I've lived with severe chronic eye pain for nearly 4 years now, so I know how rough facial pain can be. It's only been recently that I've found some relief, but it took me many years and many doctors, failed medications & procedures to find it. It's still not ideal, I still have pain & I still have my bad days where nothing seems to help, but you take what you can get!

Don't give up. There is always something else out there to try, even though it may not seem like it at the time. Have you tried any of the non-traditional routes (ie. acupuncture, homeopathy, osteopathic manipulation, etc)?

chronic eye pain, depression, and anxiety
recently implanted with a neurostimulator with leads on the supraobrital & infraorbital (ophthalmic) branches of the trigeminal nerve, resulting in a 50% decrease in pain (yippee!)

Thank you guys for your kind words and suggestions, the evenings are the worst. I am thinking about trying acupuncture, I see a pain psychologist and it has helped. I lay my jaw on a heat pack last night and I don't think the nerve could take the pressure, it gave me shocking pain....won't be doing that anymore.

Skeye, I remember you telling me about your eye pain when I first joined HW, your life must have changed drastically when it happened. It is good to hear you have found a treatment that is better to some degree at least.

Distraction is the best but it is hard to keep it up.

Thanks again, talking to people who understand, well it makes the world of difference.

Goodness, I am terribly sorry that you are in so much pain. I have recently began having pain and intense pressure behind both eyes and down right cheek. It has only been going on for a short while and already I am very frustrated. I just do  not know how you are able to make it through each day with such pain. It must take a tremendous amount of strength.

I cannot offer any advise, though I wish that I could. I do hope you are able to get atleast a few moments to rest. You are in my heart and prayers.

Thank you Dani, I hope the facial pain you are experiencing is short lived, it is frrustrating as you say. For me it is more than the pain that upsets me, it is the uncontrollable pulling and tightening of the nerve in my face, I no longer know where to put my jaw, it is crazy. The days are more bearable than the evenings, I just pray it goes away one day, it wears you down.

I appreciate your kind words and thoughts, that is why I love this site, such nice people experiencing similar journeys.

Oh my Radles, I am so sorry for all your difficult days with constant pain. I can certainly feel for you. I have constant

severe headaches, and tmj so jaw and face pain, earaches etc. So it's not fun. And my future looks scarey too me too so I

try to do only a day at a time, sometimes even that is difficult. Like you I love this site. Such wonderful and

caring people. No judging here. Keep posting my friend and we will all support one another.

Hi Suzanne,

Good to hear from you, and thank you for the support. It is scary, I am like you, one day at a time. The doctor tells me it probably won't get any worse, but not knowing if it will ever stop is so difficult to get my head around. It is truly a nightmare.

What I would give to see the end of it. Do you know what started or triggered your tmj pain?
