Hi everyone,
My computer has been in the shop for some time so I haven't checked in for a while. I got the O.K. from the insurance to do the spinal nerve stimulator implant. I held my breath for 2 weeks after the trial...just hoping that they would approve the implant. The trial went really well. My only great concern is coming off the meds after the implant. Thank goodness I have a wonderful doctor who told me that we would do it in "baby steps" and that he was not going t try anything for a while because he wanted me to feel good for a while. How sweet is that? I'll try to read some of the posts to catch up on what is going on with everyone.  My surgery is Oct. 27th. so prayers would be appreciated. Thanks to everyone of you who travel this painful road we are on and you still contimue to try to help others. God bless you.

Nurse2 that is great that the trial went well I am excited and happy for you. What I am concerned about is your dr taking you off of all of your pain meds. Why is he doing this? People with the Stims still need pain medication, what is he thinking? I do hope he is talking about trying to see about reducing your meds after the unit is implanted. You will be in our thoughts and prayers for a successful surgery. Hugs.

Good luck with your surgery! I am so please to hear that your trial went so well. I love my stimulator. It has made a huge difference for me, but I'm not off the pain meds yet. We're working on that, but we are going slow.

Don't let your doc push you too much, just because you get the implant doesn't necessarily mean that you are going to be able to be med free.

I'll be thinking about you on the 27th!

Hi Nurse2!

We LOVE good news and especially when it's about less pain! I will add to the prayers for you that you have a quick surgery and recover easily. Please know that this Family will be right beside you the entire way.
