Sunday Koffee Klatch
If you are new to this forum family then you may be wondering what kind of goofy question is that on a health care forum. idea   We all suffer with medical conditions and with most of us there is pain involved...sometimes a lot of pain. Or maybe you are the loved one of one of these persons. This forum is all about how we help and support each other, how we gain back more quality to our lives, and how we can learn and share what we gain along the way and hopefully make not only our lives better but the lives of others who come to join us.

But we need to also remember that there is the other side of life...the side that isn't concentrated on illness and pain. That's why we started the daily Koffee Klatch. This is a time to laugh, reminisce, chit-chat about the silly things in our lives...all fun things and no pain. In fact the 'P' word is not allowed...  turn    So each day we share our thoughts or experiences on a different topic. Often it includes food, sometimes we talk about our past, and other times we just get goofy! Laughter is our goal. So, please join us whether this is your very first day on Healing Well or you're a seasoned veteran.
Daily Question:
Do you go to bed early? Or do you stay up late? Perhaps, you are like me and go to bed for a few hours but jerk awake every few minutes. Do you not sleep at all and instead sleep during the day or in small spurts through out the day & night when you body gives in?
When do you go to sleep? What is your sleep hygiene like?

I try to go to sleep by 10:00pm. I have to get up by 5:45am during the week. I can sleep as late as I want to on Saturdays, usually 9:00 if my back doesn't wake me. Sundays I wake up a 8:00 to go to church.
I have sleep apnea and sleep with a Cpap, so some nights the mask slips and I wake up with a very dry mouth. I have to turn it off, moisturize my mouth, put it back on my face, and turn it on again. It can get annoying.
Some nights I can sleep all the way through, unless I have to shift positions, then I'm shocked awake with a spasm. :(

I like to be in bed and asleep by midnight but more often than not it is 2 or 3am before I fall asleep and then I am usually waking up in pain a few hours later. What's kind of pathetic is that it usually is not back pain that wakes me up rather it is pain caused by my legs swelling while I am asleep that wakes me up. I then have to get out of bed and walk around or at least sit for an hour or so until the swelling goes down and then I go back to bed. By the 3rd round of this I have to stay up because the little guy is awake by then.

Once I get him off to his 1/2 day of preschool in the afternoon I set my alarm and usually take a nap for a couple of hours until he comes home.
