Welcome,
This is a great site, take some time to look around, maybe even read or review old postings..
Nice to meet you sure wish it was under better circumstances than chronic pain. Sometimes
the first step is to ask your primary doctor (pcp) for a referral to a pain management clinic,
then a good pain management psychologist can help, for when things go haywire and your having a bad day.
Hope you'll feel free in telling more about yourself soon.

May I also Welcome you to the Healing Well Chronic Pain Forum! What you have been told by everyone is definitely true!  I personally don't think you will find a more caring and compassionate group of people anywhere on the internet! We can't give you any medical advice to cure you, but we can lend you our ears and listen to you and let you know that you are not alone with your pain! As they say misery loves company, well by coming here, you will have plenty of company!  I will tell you, we all share in your pain, and frustrations, and maybe just maybe by sharing your feelings  with us, we can give you our support, and, who knows it just might ease the burden of your pain  abit!  You know Amy, all the people here  have CP in common, so we not only can sympathize with you, but also empathize!.  And that makes a huge difference! Because we honestly know how it feels to be in constant pain, we have felt it, and continue to feel it, CP is our constant partner! Anyway I am sorry that you are having chronic pain, but I am happy that you have found this site!!!. Hopefully you will find, like so many of us have, that the people here on this forum are all like family!

So again I wish you all the best! and I  welcome you to our CP family!

Hi Amy, I too would like to welcome you to Healing Well's chronic pain forum. Like the others have said, I am sorry that you have to be here but glad that you have found us. Its always comforting to know you are not alone when dealing with any kind of health crisis. Everyone on this forum suffers with CP caused by various factors.

I see that you are being worked up I assume by way of testing for crohns disease. What tests have been done so far and what did they reveal? I have crohns disease and then 2 years later I was also dx'd with ulcerative colitis. Yes, I know, just tons of fun dealing with these two evil diseases. I would not wish either disease on my very worst enemy. My gastro says the odds of having both diseases are like 5% and I happen to fall in that 5%. In the event you do get dx'd with crohns, you need to know there is another animal that comes with crohns called crohns arthritis. It affects your joints like the usual arthritis will and can cause you all sorts of misery. I have it along with osteoarthritis and its no fun on the joints. I take Humira shots every 2 weeks for the crohns and its one of the biologic drugs. I know those scare people to death but it works for me. All drugs comes with potential side effects. Many times a side effect may only happen to one person and they report it and therefore they have to list it as a possible side effect.

Are you under the care of a pain mgt dr? My gastro referred me to a PM dr as he could not help me with all of the different pain issues.Anyway, I wanted to pop on and say welcome aboard. I hope you can get some answers soon once and for all about the crohns disease. By the way Healing Well also has a crohns disease forum here that is wonderful too so you may want to check them out too. Take care.
