So i had my doctors appointment the other day it went well. The lump on the back is a muscle spasm which she noticed i have many but this one happened to stay in contraction mode we increased my hydromorph and in a month i will see her again.... I still think it;s something else but she;s the doc so we'll have to wait till my MRI in november. Still having trouble sleeping more than usual really sucks. I was feeling a bit better till the day after my appointment and starting cleaning my house and back on the couch i went.. Oh the pain cycle with a twist.. Hope everyone has a low pain day take care Twiggy2 wink

Maybe you ought to get a second opinion about that lump on your back! How long have you had it? it has been a while hasn't it? or am I think about someone else, I thought you mentioned something about it quite awhile ago???? Anyway A muscle spasm usually does not stay knotted up of contracted for that long of a period. At least I would not think that it would. I don't know,...... but it just might not hurt to go to some other physician and get it looked at again, just to make sure something isn't being missed! Doctors aren't infallible you know.

I do wish you will with this....

Twiggy I have has knots come up and stay and it was spasms. In fact they were doing trigger point injections and could not get the needle in several of them. That hurt like you cannot believe, wow. When I get that bad I find a very good massage therapist and go for a two hour complete massage. Works like a charm. If you cannot do that then get hubby or someone to give you a good rub down (lightly) with something like Tiger Balm followed by moist heat packs.

Until the spasms is under better control lay off the housework. Are you on a muscle relaxer, if not you might want to call and ask the nurse to talk to the dr about rxing one. Hope you get to feeling better.

Hi Twiggy!

I too would strongly consider a second opinion. It very well might be knotted muscles but if it's worrying you then maybe you need to find out what's going on for certain. I'm a believer that we know our own bodies so well and then if someone is 'out of whack' then it does need to be looked into. For peace of mind...you could ask your doc for a referral to a specialist

Hello and ty so much for the replies. Ive had the bump since October 13th  I wish my MRI was sooner but have to wait till Nov 11th. Im hoping that will show something cause i know my condtion in general has worsened. I try to stay active but very hard specially when every time i put one foot in front of the other I feel pain. She did mention about extra massage which hubby has been doing smilewinkgrin   feels a bit better a the time but its comes back. Some days i have a harder time standing, pain shooting down my legs or a combo of different pain... And anytime something new pops up i worry prob more than i should. The bump added to things im sure and yes its still there, ive alternated between hot and cold to force the muscle to come out of contraction but didnt help. I guess thats why i think its something more.. I will let you all know how things are going.. Gentle Hugs to all and low pain days...Twiggy2
