Well  my friends,
I am happy to announce that I have completed my chemotherapy for my cancer.  My last treatment was about three weeks ago.  Now I start my radiation treatments on Nov 17.
The protocol for my type of cancer is five treatments, one time a week for five weeks with internal placement near the cervix.  But my doctor feels that since I have a particularly aggessive cancer and to be as sure as we can that we did everything to prevent it from coming back, that we do both internal and external radiation.
So we will start with five times a week for five weeks for external radiation with me being treated face down (fun),  Then, three treatments, one time a week for three weeks with the internal placement.  The treatments themselves don't take very long I am told, maybe 15 minutes.
I already went in and was measured and tatooed for my treatments.  That was weird too.  And I am not a fan of tatoos really, so the joke is on me.  I was wearing my scarf tied on my head and now with tatoos, my husband said, " Gee, Linda, we should get you a Harley now!"  I laughed so hard!!  He did buy me a pink baseball cap with the Toyota logo on it the other day.  I love that hat!
Oh my hair is growing back!!  It's coming in white and wirey.  I kinda look like an ostrich.  But hey thats ok.  All I have to do is don my new and pretty baseball cap.
So, that's it in a nutshell.  Thank you all for caring and most epecially for your prayers.  I believe in prayers and feel they have gotten me this far.  So please, when you're speaking to the Man upstairs, please put in a good word for my body and these treatments.   Thank you so much.
I love you all.  And God bless you all.

Hi Lindaloo,

It's so good to hear from you. I'm so glad you are doing well and that you sound more like your cheerful self. I'm going to have to use the tattoo thing on my step-father, who has got to start getting radiation treatments soon and ask my grumpy old aunt who just finished with them. Both are anti-tattoo and it should be a hoot to mess with them a little. I do love both of them dearly, so it will be done in love.

All my best to you.

   Dear Linda,
I am so glad you were able to stop by. I must admit I have often wondered how you were doing and how you were holding up. I see now your fighting spirit is strong as ever. It humbles me. I hope more than anything that you will be able to pull through the next month so that you can enjoy a family holiday.
I have to get going and wake my little Bees up for breakfast. I do hope that you are able to rest when your body will let you. Hang in there and stay strong. Our prayers are with you.

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood

Linda thank you so much for updating us on where you are at treatment wise. I must say you have the best attitude anyone could ask for and your strength is just second to none. When my friends hair came back it was curly and she always had straight hair, lol. She did not mind one bit. Please know you will continue to be in my prayers.

Many, many thanks for the update.

Hi Linda, I'm definately sending you all my healing energies, but I just love your humour.
I'm sure you don't look like an ostrich but the imagery it brought to my mind made me have a great chuckle. I'm glad you can still see the funny side of things, when I have my infusions in the hospital I am often next to chemo people and I am constantly amazed at their humour. We often end up in hysterics over someones antics or anecdotes of dealing with the joys of disease. Sure helps the healing process I'm sure.
Wonderful you're husband is there for you too.
Good luck with the radiation, I really hope it kills off all those nasty cells.
I'll be thinking of you, golitho yeah

I've not been around much lately, so I've missed any earlier updates you posted, but I'm glad I saw this one.

My cousin has finished her chemo and radiation and is doing great. Her hair is growing back in - a little whiter, and we kind of tease her how "punk" she looks. She has a couple of hats she likes, too, and that's what she's worn through all of this. She drove herself in for her daily radiation treatments for 6 weeks, and said they just took a few minutes. Then she'd end up shopping or at the casino! Her husband jokes that he's saving a lot of money now that she's finished driving into the city for treatments!

She's also traveled across the country to visit her daughter and granddaughter, and her and her husband just returned from a 10 day cruise (not the one in San Diego!). I share this with you to hopefully send some uplifting images for you to use for your coming weeks. Your attitude reminds me of hers; both of you have enormous courage and strength - more than you probably know!
