I am 38 yrs old lady, with no history of any urinary infection or any other urinary complaints so far.  For the last 6 months or so, I've been experincing severe spasm type pain in my lower abdomen esp after urination.  It is so severe that I cant move for awhile and then it will subside on its own within 5-10 mins.  I do have multiple small intramural fibroids with bulky uterus on ultrasound, but I am regular with my periods.  Please let me know if anyone what is wrong with my body and what should I do, thnx,

You'll need to see your doc to rule out infection. There is something called Interstitial Cystitis that can cause bladder pain. Google it, you can see if the recommended dietary changes help while you are waiting for a diagnosis.

Do you take tramadol? I just learned this can be an unpleasant side effect.

Hi Shirin,

First of all welcome to the forum, but I am sorry you had the need to seek us out! As you know, we are not doctors and can only advise from our own experiences, but the only time I had pain like that....and exactly like that....was a serious bladder infection! I remember being afraid to go to the bathroom because when my bladder was empty it went into such bad spasms, I wanted to cry! I would make a doctor appointment and in the mean time start drinking cranberry juice!

Take care of you!

Sounds a lot like what my wife went through when she had a bladder infection. Talk to your primary doctor about it or better yet go see a urologist.

Hi Shirin and welcome!

I will agree with comments above...please get in to see your primary doctor and/or a urologist ASAP! Daughter just had a bought with a combined bladder/kidney/uterine infection not long after giving birth. No idea where it came from but she had such bad pain like you described. Even though you don't have a history of UTI's it's still very easy to get them. It's very common in women and one of the leading causes if having sex. Not very fair, huh? ;-)

Anyway, here's a link I found that explains more. See if this describes what you are feeling. I hope it helps!
