Hi Pete. If it gets too cold outside there in Florida you can always huddle around the computer for warmth and let us know what's been happening with you while you're there. Everyone misses hearing about your fishing adventures. Hope you are well. Lee

Pete has been having a lot of pain lately and has also had to build some doors for the barn for the horses.

I will let him know that there has been a thread started here for him.

I am so sorry for neglecting my friends & fams here at HW! Thank you so much for remembering me! SE thanks for starting this post, it sure feels good to know Y'all were thinking about me! I sure didn't mean to worry anyone!
There is so much going on in my life right now w/ doctors, family, getting ready for the hollidays and all the usual chores & Honeydo's here on the farm! As usual, I'm trying to work through the pain but it has had me up against the ropes for the past couple weeks while biting off more than I can chew in what is really cold weather for Fla! I'm not evan sure where to start as there is so much to tell!
One of the biggest pains has been my wife's insurance changing Dec. 1st! I was seeing a sleep Dr. and had all my tests (lung & sleep)scheduled then her company dropped this insurance bomb on us! The sleep doc doesn't take my new insurance! Grrrr! Now after two months of waiting for dr. apts. and tests, I'm back to square one w/ a new doc! My pain doc's office is also closing (all the new Fla. pain clinic laws have really screwed things up) and I'll have to travel over an hour to see him this month! At least he takes the new insurance!
I was trying to get this all done before my Sons come home for Christmas! Yes, they are both coming home and will be here next week!!!!! I can't tell you how excited I am!!!
As Suzane wrote I had to build some doors for the horses who have been biting each other!
Oh, Thanks Suz for letting me know about this post> You're the Best!!!!!! Our mare Lily has a torn tendon in her front leg and has been crazy laim so we have been keeping her in her stall and just taking her out on a lead rope once or twice a day for a walk. She has been crazy cranky and the two have been biting each other through the stall doors which only had bottom halfs. El got bitten and cut right below his eye the other day! So I was asked to build top halfs for the doors to close her in and also keep the cold NW wind out.
Like Mikey said, I sent him & some others videos of the doors and my silly gelding "El" helping me w/ the doors. I posted the videos on Facebook if you want to see them.
I haven't been fishing lately as it's been so cold here but yesterday I said "screw it" and went w/ a friend over to the Crystal River for a few hrs. in the afternoon while it was warm (50's & 60's) and very sunny. The river was full of manatees and porposes near the spring holes keeping warm. There were also loads of fish in the warm water> it comes out 72 degrees all year. The problem was there were so many little fish biting (caught over 100!) we didn't catch any keepers. We did catch some pretty big fish but they were no good to eat and released unharmed w/ the little guys. It was a nice day though and really nice to get out evan though we didn't bring home any fish for dinner!
Well it will be getting light soon here and time to get moving again! I need to clean the boat from yesterdays carnage! Those little fish pooped all over the boat! Then pick up horse poop and maybe work on a fishing rod I'm building for my Brother (going through a painfull devorse!) for Christmas. (running out of time!)
I'll try harder not to be a stranger and I am sorry for not posting for a while!!!
Love All Y'all!!! Big Holliday Cluster Hugs!!!
Pete

Chart, I have lots of hugs for you too old friend! Yes the boys are coming!!! I am praying for some warm weather for them cause it's cold where they are stationed. I remember like it was yesterday when they used to ask me "Why do we have to live in Fla? It's always warm here and it never changes! We want to see & play in the snow!" Now the can't wait to get back home to the warm!
Weather was great till Thanksgiving> low 80s in the day, 60s at night then Mother Nature switched on the winter switch! The cold fronts have been coming trough back to back w/ no time to warm up in between! It is going to hit 70 today but is cloudy and may rain cause another cold front is coming through tomorrow w/ the coldest weather yet! It was 18 degrees on both my thermometers just last Weds. a.m.!!! My body hates it!!!
I am terably crippled today cause yesterday I picked up poop in the pasture for 3 hrs! My wife has been really busy w/ here job lately and of course w/ me not working the guilt factor hit me pretty bad as usual. I must have been out of my mind to do so much! Can't walk or bend at all today> STUPID!!! Guess I'll never learn but what else is new? I hate having C.P. and I hate my body!!!
Enough for now.
Love Yuze Gize! Specially you Chart!!! Thanks for writing back!
Pete

   Hey Pete!

Sorry I haven't been in touch much lately. I have been swamped! It sure is good to hear from you though. How fantastic! The whole family together for the holidays    :-)   The best Christmas gift of all!

You did some pretty big upgrades to the barn. I hope the El and Lilly like their new privacy. That is a lot of work to do. Hopefully, it will keep those cold winds out of there. I am sure that had to hurt and wore you out!

I am terribly sorry to hear about the insurance issues. That is going to be one heck of a pain in the #2. Especially trying to get it all done around the holidays before all the doctors go on vacation! That is one big mess, I sure hope you are able to get it taken care of quickly. ...sheesh..what a hassle. With any luck this insurance change is a good thing? Do you have better access to doctors or is the insurance change going to cover less, with less access to specialists?

I just found out 2 days ago that our insurance is changing too. For us it is a god send. Apparently we weren't the only ones getting ripped off by Big Blue. All the families have staggering medical debt from the last year. My 18K was small compared to some of the other families. We were only with Big Blue for a year and half! HR is overwhelmed trying to sort it all out. The company had enough, changed everyone over to a new carrier. But, this is good news. We were with this carrier before, they cover all my doctors. A year ago before the change to Big Blue, my husbands company reviewed my medical needs and decided I needed to stay with my current medical group because of my circumstances. Some sort of deal was made where the company paid extra to stay with my medical group. Big Blue went against that agreement even though they were being paid more. Now that we are going back, we do have to pay more per month. But! They cover all my doctors 100%. If I get a certain type of "physical" every once in a while they will knock 30.00 off our monthly insurance payment. I am still unsure if this is different from my regular yearly check up / blood work / vaccinations?

Things out here in NM have been busy, busy. A little crazy too I must admit. We were hit hard with an unexpected expense a few days ago... no big deal, all the bills are paid and the gifts are done. Still we wish we had known about the expense last week. We will dip into our "new house fund" to pay further on the expense. Davids family in Florida is a bit stressed out and having a hard time. I hope they will be able to relax and enjoy the holidays when they receive their Christmas gift. Speaking of gifts, your little heart will burst when you see what the girls made you for Christmas. They miss you and Lisa terribly. LIttle Rosie says "We need to go to the air plane so we can see Uncle Pete. We go tomorrow ok.".  Ah! I must admit I miss the slow pace and relaxation of Florida. I sure hope we can go out there next year!

I see I have written a short novel, so I will end  this here. I hope you get a chance to rest up today. Take care and know were thinking about you guys!

Sweet Dani! I just knew you would be posting when you saw my name! I know you have been super busy w/ all the cooking, dr's, and all the reg stuff you are always doing plus your Bumblebees must keep you hopping conatantly! I just don't know how you do it w/ your health issues!
Sorry to hear David's family is having troubles here in Fla!!! So many people are, it's so sad! Tell Tesa & Rose that El & Lily miss them but not as much as Lisa, Rose & espessially me! I sure wish you were coming out for another visit this year but I know how tough it must be evan doing a trip like that evan just every couple years!
On insurance, I had Blue w/ my old company and I know what you are saying about them! As for our new coverage, the company offers different "grades" of insuance plans and of coures we always get the best avalable, it's always worth it in the long run. Our new coverage is basicly the same as what we had before and so far, all my dr's take it.
I got a call yesterday afternoon by my pain dr. (the one I like) He said he quit the group he was with and started his own practice right near the other office in town that closed and would I like to switch over and stay with him? Wow! A dr. calling me asking me to be his patiant!!! I knew he was leaving but he wasn't going till Jan. I guess he must have had a falling out or something! I need him for my SSD as I don't trust the group he was with and I'd just be getting a new doc if I stayed w/ them> No brainer!
Did you get the videos I sent you of El helping me w/ the barn door? If not I'll send them again or they are on Facebook! Pretty funny stuff!
Well this is about all my blasted fingers can take this early in the a.m.! Thanks again for writing back!
Much love to you and your Fams!! Special hugs for the girls!!!
Pete

Hey Pete,

Since you haven't been on the board for a while and I'm sure haven't had time to catch up on reading all of the threads, I wanted to tell you that I had my SSD hearing. I believe we were about on the same schedule with denials. Well they ended up giving me SSD!!!! Yeahhhaaa!!! I know you mentioned the out of work thing, but perhaps if you can wait just a little longer things will work out. It took me a long time, but the judge granted it all the way back to the actual day I screwed up my back. I was surprised and shocked that it worked out so well. I hope yours will do the same.

Have a Great Christmas with the boys!

Pete! can you resend me those video's as well?....somehow I fat fingered something and deleted them by mistake! Sorry buddy!

It wont be long and we will be shaking each others hands. I may even help you scoop up some poop! smilewinkgrin

It is so good to see you here again, and tell your friend Fatherjohn he is missed as well, if you hear from him. He is such a nice man!

I do hope you get approved for SSD like retiredmom. I just love it to see one of our members get approved for this.

So, what your saying is that you will still be able to see your same PM? That will be great, and I was getting worried for you down there.

My Dr restarted me back on the Oxycontin's and it is helping to smooth things out already. However; we still need to make a few adjustments to get it right. Man oh Man!....it dooo make a difference!

I have to agree with you on Dani! I really don't know how that woman does it all! She is not in a good place with her health either, but the sugar keeps running towards the boards when needed!

Take care! You will have some company soon! wink

Hi R/M! Thanks and Congrads on the SSD!!! I'm so happy for you!!! At this point I think it's gonna be a long haul for me! My lawer doesn't have a clue when my hearing may be but it ain't gonna be soon, that they do know! I think it goes by state and good old Fla. is totally overloaded w/ aplications! I wouldn't be surprised if it takes more than another year for me! Thanks again for thinking about me!
Mikey, I don't want to overload you but I'll resend the videos to you! No problem!
Yes, I saw my new doc this morning! I only had him at the other place for a couple months but I like him!! I guess this will be my 5th pain doc in 14 months! At least thats how it will look on paper! Funny I dumped two so called docs for just writing scripts and not treating me (pill mills!), now it sounds like I'm the dr. shopper!!! Geeze!
Glad to hear about your meds, sure hope they help you!
OH!!!! Lee> "Solar Powered", somehow I missed sending a thanks to you!! I'm sorry, don't know how that happened! Well Thanks so much for posting to me!!! I wish I had some good fish stories for you but these tropical fishes are frozen here and not biting!! I'm just hoping they live through this cold snap> They are calling for 18 degrees  tonight w/ a wind chill in the single diggets!!!!! darnations!
Thanks again to all my Family who never forgot about me!!!

18 degrees in Florida!!?? And I was so thinking I wish I was in Florida to escape the painful cold up here in Maryland. Brrrrrrr, at this rate < imight have to opt for a Puerto Rico vacation or something :P
MRI revealed disc bulge and test injections revealed RA. Radio Freq procedures have decreased the severity of pain by about 1/3rd. Was on Nucynta (tapentadol 50mgs) for several months, but due to a decrease in pain, I now used Tylenol #3 with Codeine and .5 mg Klonopin. Go ahead and laugh but the Codeine works well ;)
