Mommy and the little elves hard at work....

Here is my holiday tradition during the very last phase....

And hopefully a few smiles when they see I made something just for them...

I have 6 packages getting mailed on Monday. Only because my husband had to work overtime and extra shifts. I wish I could drive, but I just cannot see well enough to get behind the wheel.

......though I am sure it would be exciting if I were to drive!   devil

Now that I have a chance to reflect on the last 5 weeks.... I think it would be better if I scheduled an "off" day every 3 days of candy making. I was fighting fatigue and pain far too much.

Also, it occurred to me that I should only have one or two "tricky" candies. Instead of trying to cram in chocolate layering AND a bunch of time consuming chocolates. Maybe just one or 2 hard ones, the rest easy to make. Lets face it, my heart is willing, but my body is not.

It would help my pain considerably if I were to relinquish control over the harder candies as well. By that I mean, I should accept help with the harder candies instead of insisting that I must do them myself.

Now that I have time to think clearly.....  I really should get all my candy recipes transferred over to word documents on my computer. Rather than writing down the recipes countless times after gift bags are delivered. My poor hand is cramping terribly. Though it makes my heart feel so good that so many folks want my recipes.

Now this closes candy making for another successful year. With a little luck, I will make time for my pain and work with my body, not against it, next year.

Hello Dani,

What amazes me more than your skill at candy making and jewelry making (although they are beautiful) is that you do this all for others for the joy it brings to them. You get away from your pain and do something that puts a smile on somebody's face. You make children lick their lips with anticipation of a piece of your candy. You may others sparkle with jewelry you have personally made. It's so much better than "cookie cutter" boxed chocolates and pre-made trinkets from the store. It's special, because you did it and the value of that is priceless.
