cry  I'm going to whine here a little, so please don't read if it bothers you. cry

Today, while trying to have a rare few hours out with my daughter and a friend, I was separated from the two of them so my daughter could pick out a Christmas present for me. :-)

I "tried" to stoop down just a litle bit (MISTAKE) to pick some pillows out from a shelf just about waist height and somehow fell very hard on my backside (mostly to the right).  I was, needless to say, quite embarassed and in some serious pain from the fall onto the concrete floor.  Thankfully I was able to break my fall with my right arm before I hit my head, but I must have looked like an idiot flopping down on the floor like a fish that jumped out of it's bowl.  Ughhh... I guess it just wasn't my day.

I'm very, very sore now in my back (which was just healing some from the last RFA), but I don't think I did any permanent damage.  I somehow got to my knees and found a way to get myself up after being on all fours for a little while.  Now I know for sure I'll be trying the new BT med tomorrow when my husband is off because it's gonna be a tricky few days until the soreness goes away.

Ok, whine over.......I bought the pillows anyway so that I could have somewhere soft to rest when we are traveling (locally) for Christmas.

Oh no! I am so sorry you fell today! I will be praying that your soreness passes quickly!

I have had many of those moments of embarrassment.

I hope that you feel better soon.

I am so sorry you fell and I hope you feel better fast! I seem to fall a lot and because it always hurts me a lot......out of frustration one time, my hubby said, "Why in the %#&@ are you ALWAYS falling?", as I lay on the ground in pain! Boy was I mad, but we laugh and joke about it now! Another one of those things he can't fix....he can't make me less clumsy! Sending healing hugs your way!

Take care of you,

remember those days when you could fall and just bounce back up with no injuries? It seems the older I get the more I pay for falls. If I even slip on ice now I am sore for days. I hope you feel better soon.

Well Mom! What are we going to do with you! wink

It happens just when we least expect it too! Even at a time when we are not taking a chance, it catches us by surprise.

I was just into my recovery a few months, when one morning I was trying to put my underware on. You know...you kinda lean to one side and hang them as low as possible to get one foot in. Well.....when I jerked my other foot up hoping to hit the bull's-eye.....you guessed it!.....that big ole toe of mine caught the hem.....and I started to dance a jig and tap my way around the room that would have made Fred Astaire jelous! Then of course to make things worse.....as I hit the floor, ...... Ginger Rogers (My Wife) rose up out of bed and said "what are you doing down on all fours"!!! (of course!... my underware was down around my ankels) Never mind what my reply was! wink   None the less it happens, and it is never a good time for it to happen.

I do hope you haven't hurt yourself. It can be scary, especially if you have had back surgery. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

        SE wink

Thanks all for you support!!! I think I may have done more damage than I thought (or something else is causing increased pain). I also keep tilting over when I try to do anything that involves reaching. I even fell against the wall in the camper yesterday trying to reach for a gown. I wasn't hurt there because there is so little room between the bed and the wall in a camper (even a nice one). I could have just walked up to the cabinet, but my husband had put some of his things on that side and I couldn't reach. Apparently there is a little problem with reaching that is causing these falls. One of my friends told me I was just top heavy and tilt over, but I don't think that can explain the big boom in the store.

SE, I love the Underware story....that's one for the books!!!! If we took a poll I bet we'd find most of our members have some bizarre way of getting dressed that requires imagination and skill.

Thanks again guys!

Well shoot! I'm at a loss.....what do you think it could be?  Maybe an inner ear infection?

I'm guessing you will see a Dr soon right? That could be a bad accident waiting to happen, and you certianly don't need that.

Do let us know what happens, and please do be careful as well.

Have a wonderful Holiday too! smilewinkgrin
