Wednesday Koffee Klatch
If you are new to this forum family then you may be wondering what kind of goofy question is that on a health care forum. idea   We all suffer with medical conditions and with most of us there is pain involved...sometimes a lot of pain. Or maybe you are the loved one of one of these persons. This forum is all about how we help and support each other, how we gain back more quality to our lives, and how we can learn and share what we gain along the way and hopefully make not only our lives better but the lives of others who come to join us.

But we need to also remember that there is the other side of life...the side that isn't concentrated on illness and pain. That's why we started the daily Koffee Klatch. This is a time to laugh, reminisce, chit-chat about the silly things in our lives...all fun things and no pain. In fact the 'P' word is not allowed...  turn    So each day we share our thoughts or experiences on a different topic. Often it includes food, sometimes we talk about our past, and other times we just get goofy! Laughter is our goal. So, please join us whether this is your very first day on Healing Well or you're a seasoned veteran.
Daily Question:
Do you ever feel unappreciated?

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood

Sometimes I feel underappreciated and sometimes I KNOW I'm underappreciated.....that's when I "go on strike" and just let it all pile up for a few days. People start to get the hint then and do a few things for themselves. That's also when the appreciation starts again.

I've also found that taking myself out for something special......(I love to junk store/pawn shop/thrift store explore) makes me feel better. Concentrating on how underappreciated I feel makes me feel much worse and getting out makes me feel much better, even if it is for a brief period of time.

My big buy yesterday was a new DirectTV remote from the junk store....$1.00 and now programmed to the TV, audio system, and DVD in our den. Now both my husband and I have one next to us in the evenings and can mute those irritating commercials. I figure that's about $20.00 saved from the "real" price. It's a small thing, but it gives me a little thrill to find a useful item without breaking the bank. I do hate clutter though, so I clean out and give away on a regular basis.

Smiles to everyone this week. Smiles are contageous and I'm going to try today to make at least one other person smile. :)

I just sent my last Christmas Guests out the door and I'm glad I won't see them for another year! For the past six days I've entertained, cleaned up, bit my tongue, and kept my house from being destroyed by my nieces and nephews. I was constantly walking around picking up dirty dishes, loading the dish washer, and unloading it. I did five loads of dishes in one day! They never lifted a finger to help.
Sorry, I needed to vent. I feel better. :)

Yes I often feel unappreciated and used and abused by people who are supposed to care. It sucks. Lee

I am glad to see I am not the only one who feels un or under appreciated.

The worst of it is when I tell my wife I need a "day off" from the daily grind of being a homemaker and she responds with the attitude that her days off from her job are more important because she is the one who works outside the home and brings in the money. She just doesn't have clue that being a homemaker is a 24/7 job and she just doesn't get that even though you have some quiet time and can kind of take breaks when you want as compared to a "normal" job that you are still on call all the time.
