Hello HW Friends,

When visiting my PCP last week, we discussed this awful weight gain that I have had and "what to do about it".  She suggested an "exercise chair" that is normally made for disabled people or elderly people and has to be purchased as DME with a prescription.  She says it works with some type of bands, but did not elaborate too much.  She also says that it would exercise the muscles and keep me from having more muscle pain and loss and more fat gain.  She's more than willing to write the script and more than willing to argue with the insurance company to get this thing for me, but she doesn't know what it is called and suggested I do an internet search and call her back with the data.  I've been trying and trying, but I can't figure out what she is referring to and wondered if you guys had any idea.

You all seem to have so much more knowledge than I do about medical equipment and how to find the correct info.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. idea

Thanks!

I found something on the web called the Genesis Chair. Is this what you're talking about?

I'm wondering if it's what the chiro at my pain clinic used. If so, it targeted low back muscles, supposedly. Really, it just made things 100% worse than before I started the specialized chair PT. Whatever it is, make sure you can "try before you buy".

good luck!

Thanks guys. I'm not sure if it is the Genesis chair or not, but I'll do a little more reading. I appreciate the search Joy.

Also Frances, that is a great idea!!!! I think I'd give up if it made thinks worse.

Perhaps I can call mh PT on Tuesday and get the name from them if they know it.

Thanks again!
