Saturday Koffee Klatch
If you are new to this forum family then you may be wondering what kind of goofy question is that on a health care forum. idea   We all suffer with medical conditions and with most of us there is pain involved...sometimes a lot of pain. Or maybe you are the loved one of one of these persons. This forum is all about how we help and support each other, how we gain back more quality to our lives, and how we can learn and share what we gain along the way and hopefully make not only our lives better but the lives of others who come to join us.

But we need to also remember that there is the other side of life...the side that isn't concentrated on illness and pain. That's why we started the daily Koffee Klatch. This is a time to laugh, reminisce, chit-chat about the silly things in our lives...all fun things and no pain. In fact the 'P' word is not allowed...  turn    So each day we share our thoughts or experiences on a different topic. Often it includes food, sometimes we talk about our past, and other times we just get goofy! Laughter is our goal. So, please join us whether this is your very first day on Healing Well or you're a seasoned veteran.
Daily Question:
It never ceases to amaze me how many people I see talking on cell phones or "texting" and sending messages. This truly is the "Information age" without a doubt!
How about you?
How many "texts" do you send per day?
How many "social" phone calls do you make per day?

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood

Happy New Year to everyone! I do text my husband a lot, and I'm on the phone with family members throughout the day. Pretty often, especially my grandmother. I have to say though that I REALLY need an ear piece for my phone because it KILLS my neck to talk on the phone too much.

Ha ha...I am so not a phone person. I have 2 teenage girls who text and talk enough for everyone! I talk to my Dad a few times a week and of course keep in touch with my kids when they are out with friends but that's pretty much the extent of it.

Although when my Mom was still alive I talked to her several times a day. The only other person I would keep in touch with on a daily basis is my sis and now we live together so I don't have to call her.

Happy New Year All!!

I receive A LOT of texts each day, from my fiance and my good girlfriends. It depends how bad a day everyone is having, so some days are lean with less than 5, other days I get over 200. They all seem to have bad days at the same time. My mother calls me on the home phone, but we don't talk long. Other than that just wedding business and the occasional church member, friend or family member will call me.
Its funny that you ask this Dani, because it brought up a time that the information age was more bad than good. My exhusband used my cell to harrass me and follow me around. It had GPS capability and he could see where I was every moment of the day. I now have any cell with that ability blocked except for 911 access.
Happy New Year!

I buy a family plan for my parents, niece, and myself since we share a house together. My parents never text. I may text about 10 times a month. My niece (age 19 yrs old) is constantly going over her 200 a month limit. :( She gives me the money for her part, so I'm okay with it.

I don't talk that much on the phone anymore, maybe 200 minutes a month.

I never text and even had it blocked from all family phones. It was getting expensive for someone to send me something really stupid that was just taking my attention away from something else. I do, however, spend a great deal of time on the phone with my mother, my sisters, and a friend or two. I use a bluetooth or speaker phone to keep the arm/hand problems down. I'd be lost withouth my bluetooth:)

I never text...too hard on my arthritic hands, but I do talk on my cell phone. I usually call my folks, who live with my husband and I, to see if they need me to pick up something from the store or pharmacy before I come home from work. I call my husband to find out where he is and when he will be home for dinner, etc. I have a friend in Kansas, as sister in Ohio, and a step borther in NJ I also call. Probably about 150 to 200 minutes a month.

We text quite a bit. My teenager and my husband text the most. For me, probably 10-20 per day. I talk on the phone less. Maybe a couple of hours per week.
