cry  Hey HW family,
I'm going to see a new doctor tomorrow morning. I'm really nervous. I'm seeing a neuropsychologist about the MRI they did on my brain very recently. It just feels like if it's not one thing, it's another. I have no memory to speak of. I don't remember things from earlier today nor do I remember things from my childhood. What a drag! I have fallen several times and have the cuts and bruises to show for the falls, but not much else. My legs just literally don't work! I stand up and hit the floor! Jeez, I think I've got a pot of bad health I'm just stirring away at!! I woke up in the middle of the night a couple of months ago and though I leave my bedside light on every night, I seriously could not see! It has really gotten me nervous and then when I went to PM the other day, the PA asked if they were checking for MS (which actually fits most of my symptoms). My neurosurgeon told me this was over his head and that I needed to see the neuropsychologist for some testing and he mentioned the possibility of MS. I'm afraid to even go online to find out what the symptoms are.
Anyway, I'd appreciate some thoughts and/or prayers as I go into this next phase in my health.
Love to all,
Stac/Catz4

Oh Stac, that is so much to deal with at one time. I hope they can figure it all out. When I had memory loss so horribly, it turned out to be a problem with my pituatary gland and the HGH (human growth hormone) shots I take now have solved the memory problem. I hope your solution will be as easy as finding the one who can help and taking a simple shot.

I wish you luck and will keep you in my prayers!

Stac,
I hope that everything turns out okay. I am also having a new MRI , well three of them , one cervical, one thoracic and another lumbar one and one of the things that the spinal cord injury PM that I see suspects is MS.
I understand your fears. I also have memory loss and find myself unable to recall the words that I want to say most of the time. I keep telling myself it's a side effect from the Lyrica but honestly, it scare me too.
I wish you good luck and some answers. If it is MS, there are treatments for it that can substantially reduce the symptoms and manage the exacerbations of them . I have done some research into MS and it's treatments, just in case, so even if the news is not what you hoped for, there are options available to you.
Thinking of you and sending up good thoughts,
Sandi

My Dear Friend Stac,

I am so very sorry sweetheart! I wish there was something I could do to help you through all of this! I am very happy to see you posting...you need to see how much everyone cares about you! We have talked about how we both have pulled away from this place....but there are many dear friends here that do care very much and I know that in many ways it does help to hear this! You are such an amazing person, and I feel honored to call you my friend! Please know that! I also know how strong you are, but do not be afraid to ask for the support of your friends....it does not mean you are weak....it means you have been strong for too long! The people that love and care about you will be here for you no matter what, and they will never be offended if you do not say something exactly right! Those who care about you know that you would never hurt anyone intentionally! Please, please remember that! I am sending healing thoughts and hugs your way! Take care of you, hun, and keep us posted!

Lotsa love and hugs,
Becks

  Dear Catz,

It is so good to hear from you. I was very worried because you had talked about bad experience in chat and then that you were suffering through terrible symptoms. Now I see those same symptoms have increased drastically! You sound very frightened by all that has been happening. I think anyone would be in your position. I do hope you are able to find the answers that you need. More so, a solution.

I know you must have a lot going on right now, but when you get a chance stop by and let us know how your appointment went. Don't be a stranger! Even if all you do is pound the key board a few times. We want to know how you are doing. You will be in our hearts and prayers. Hang in there!

Just wanted you to know that I care.... Let us all know how things went and how you are doing.  There are many people here that care about you!

Catz I hope your appt goes well with the new dr and they can figure out what is going on. Try not to think about what could be or else you will just stress yourself out way too much. It may or may not be something serious. Save your strength to deal with whatever they decide is going on. MS is scary no doubt, but it can also be very difficult to dx. The fellow that built our storage shed told me his wife was dx'd with MS and they really had a time getting a proper dx. Once they did, she was put on medications and was doing very well and actually was back working every day, so it really is not a death sentence. I also met two very young kids teenagers that were at the infusion center I was going to for treatment and both of them had MS and were there for IV medication to treat the disease. They have come a long ways in treating MS.

Let us know how you are coming along.

I visited with her just a few min. ago, and she said she should have the results sometime today.

She will be here before long to report I'm sure.

It has been such a struggle for her these days, and I feel for her.

Hang in there Catz! Were here for you!

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers through all of this. The test results said I didn't have tumors, MS or they have no idea is basically what is going on. I do have Syringomyelia, that hasn't changed, but they have no idea why I have so many problems. I'm so angry about being shifted from one place to another to figure out this other thing that is happening. I've made the decision to go back to my GP and start at the beginning all over again. I'm continuing to lose use of my legs and my bladder quite often when I get up to go anywhere. My children, my husband, my "animal kids" and my art is all failing. I'm scared and I've been blown off by a doctor I've known for approximately 1  1/2 hours.  That makes me mad and hurts me terribly.

So again, I thank each of you who care and thank you all for remembering me. Becks, you’ve been so consistent in your messages, your caring and love, Suz~ what can I say? Thanks and I love you too!  Shannon, thank you too as well as Retiredmom, Dani, Tina, Chartreux, S.E., (you are so bad!! Give Deb a hug for me), Stray, thank you for checking in here!  I just appreciate each of you so very much and last, but certainly not least, my Brother, Mikel…I love you and am so blessed you are a member of my family.

With much love and respect,

Stac/Catz4

   Dear Catz,

So sorry that you have to start back at square one. You have been through so many tests and doctors! I had thought for sure that, this time, you would finally get the answers you deserve. I just cannot imagine how let down you must feel right now. Is going to the Mayo Clinic an option for you? It might be worth looking into. I know there is one in Arizona for sure..... let me find the link.

Here it is....

Please know you are in our hearts.

Catz4 in some ways keep in mind you did get some good news, no tumors or the other stuff that could have been terrible if they had shown up. My thoughts are since you want to go back to square one and start all over again, why not go to a teaching hospital the closest to your home? I think that may be a good starting point, many others have been in your shoes and have done this and finally been given the answers they have needed. I can't remember if you have done this already, sorry.

Anyway gal, this is something to think about. Take care.

Hey Sis , I've heard great things about the medical center at the University of Tennesee in Knoxville . Is there any chance of you checking them out ? Maybe just send out some feelers to them online explaining your situation . I really want you to get the best care possible and if your going to start all over why not have a go at the best available ? Maybe send a brief history explaining whats happened with your health and see , if you need any support , you know you can call on me anytime at all . Love You , Mikel

I go to Vanderbilt University Medical Center! Yes, it's wonderful, but (LOL!!) this is the same hospital/clinic I went to for a visit with a gynecologist. When I told the student I'd had a hysterectomy, she wrote it down and a few moments later she began examining me to find my internal "female parts" she had a very difficult time finding mine until I reminded her mine were gone! LOL!! It was just funny, and I didn't take it badly! So, I do go to a medical school and I welcome any advise. Yes, I did get good news in a way, but things have gotten worse by the day and the person who started out this journey with me is my GP and I respect him and his advise so, I am going back to him, to point one.
Thank you all again for such love,
Stac

Stac I used to live in Hendersonville close to Nashville and I know Vanderbilt to be the best place you can go for treatment of just about anything. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to reply to you back when you posted this. I wasn't here then. I had taken a long break, but I'm back now, and I wanted to reply to you now. I sure hope you've got an answer about your condition by now. If not or if so, I'm here to support you too. Take care and good luck.

love and hugs
