I haven't posted in a looong time and so much has happened. I gave birth to a healthy BEAUTIFUL baby boy, Brayden Kelley in Aug via emergency c-section due to severe pre-eclampsia. This child had brough so much joy to my life. I wonder how I ever made it a day without him before he was in it!
I dont know if other mothers can agree to this but my pain and pain tolerence is a lot different after I gave birth. I was able to cut down next to nothing before birth but I had a hard time recovering from my c-section. far the worst pain I've ever felt. YIKES!
Im still down on all of my meds since. But my pain has increased a great deal. I've lost a lot of my pregnancy weight but still have about 16lbs more to go. So Im not sure if the extra weight on top of the "already" extra I had before is the cause. But I cant seem to get this pain to where I can deal with it.
It seems like my sciatica pain has increased a lot and my med's arent really helping with that.
Any suggestions? Or are these the changes my body has to get use to due to having a child?

Hi J_Rene and welcome back. Yes, I do remember you and wow it has been a very long time, lol. Congrats on becoming a mom, your little fella sounds awesome. It sounds like motherhood agrees with you very well. Since you were here last, I became a grandmother and he is my one and only that I will have unfortunately. But, I am so thankful to have him. I cannot tell you how much fun I have being a granny, that little boy has my heart and soul. He is just amazing. But, he is now 5 years old and I want him to stay little a little longer. All I can tell you about Brayden is enjoy every minute with him that you can because they grow up so fast.

Yes, there has been other mom's that have said that during pregnancy their pain levels dropped a great deal. I read somewhere they were talking about all of the different hormones and levels that can cause this to happen sometimes with women. I am very glad to hear you were one of them.

Have you gone back to the dr about the pain levels increasing and the sciatica is raging? Many times they can do an injection to get some of the inflammation down and give you some relief. I cannot remember what kind of dr that you are treating with but, regardless I would get into see someone. Sciatica to me is like having a nagging toothache that will not go away no matter what.

I know you are busy, but keep us posted on what is going on with you. Take care.

Oh wow congrats on your baby, that's exciting.
Get an appointemnt with your doctor so you meds can be
increased as needed...I agree with Susie/Straydog on that...
Prayers, well wishes and lots of healing hugz..

Thanks for all the well wishes! Motherhood is just great!
Im trying to lose some weight which I agree with my dr would prob help with my pain.  But when I first became a CP I was at a very healthy 140 and I still hurt. But if anything its better for my health and over self esteem. I gained 80lbs with my pregnacy due to bed rest and have lost all but 10lbs. I'd like to lose another 50 or 60.
I honestly dont think my dr would be willing to increase my meds. So I'll have to try the weight loss and see if that helps.
fingers crossed!

Having a new baby is a lot of hard work, but goodness they are worth it!
I gained about 55-60 lbs from both pregnancies. Loosing weight, hormone changes,
Yikes! I do not think I did anything out of the ordinary to loose the weight.
Hefting car seats and rocking the girls for days on end.. it just slowly started
to come off over the course of a year. Try to be patient with yourself.

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
