Since it is Valentines Day how about a special question.

How did you meet your significant other and if you are married how long has it been since taking the vows?

It will be 12 years of marriage for me on the 3rd of March.

I met my wife through a personal ad I had posted at the urging of some friends who thought I had been out of the dating game for too long after getting a divorce from my first wife. She answered my ad and we spent a few weeks exchanging emails and a lot of hours chatting online before I made the 2 hour drive to finally meet her in person. We dated about 5-6 months before getting married. Most of the first year or so of our marriage was literally a rolling romance as I became a long haul truck driver a few months after us meeting and once we were married she rode with me for nearly a year.

Jim, I had been single for around 3yrs, and my wife had been single for about 5yrs. We were both professional photographers, and at times attended meetings with other professional photographers. Mrs Eagle claims she flirted with me at a few of these meetings, but I did not have a clue that she was interested.

However, I always had the best in equipment in the business, and she called me one day looking for advice on a printer. I invited her over to take a peek at one of mine. We even discussed teaming up together for a new project, photographing sleeping babies. (Sandman Portraits) While working together on this project, I noticed she seemed  interested in me. I just flat out asked her, because I was unsure of the nature of her advances.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think a girl 10yrs younger than me would be interested in me. Not only that , but she was beautiful! One date is all it took, and we were off to the races, and withen a month we were looking at rings. We married a year later in 2006!

Happy Valentines Day Baby! smilewinkgrin   You are everything to me!

I met my husband through a blind date :) This was back in 1987 and in 1989 we exchanged our vows. So this August will be our 22nd year wedding anniversary.

Internet. She was recently divorced and I was never married, then both in our mid-30's. She contacted me :)
We're in similar fields and she listed in her ad among her favorite authors: Kurt Vonnegut and Douglas Adams -- had to meet her!
Three months in, I had my accident that began my trek through pain but she stuck with me.
I moved in with her after about a year, then after about another five months, we bought a house together and got engaged. We celebrated our fifth anniversary in December.

I met my wife through her friend, which I happen to be dating. ( I like to live dangerously...lol) Anyway when I broke up with her friend I thought about asking my wife out but figured that wasn't a good idea. Later on I got back together with her friend for ahwile and she broke up with me. I figured that if she broke things off, I was in the clear to persue my wife. So we began dating and dated for 5 years and got married. This August will be 17 years. And that's that. Hope everyone has a great Valentines Day.

My Hubby and I, both worked at Wendy's (an American Fastfood chain).
I asked him out for our first date and I paid for it as the person who does the
asking out should pay unless specified. From there we had more dates and
got married in 1986, this is our 25th year, we've been married, 12 July, so
we'll be celebrating 25 years this year, but we've had rocky times too...it
ain't always easy..Well wishes for everyone, have a great day....
25 years wow....

I "heard" my now husband laughing when he was walking down a flight of stairs when we both worked at the same place. Then I had my first glimpse. We went out one time then, but it took several years before the second date....not because we didn't notice each other (but for other more complicated reasons). After about 4 years he started working in the same building and then we became great friends....friends led to more and we moved in together about a year later. A year after that we married. That was 1995, so we've had a lot of good years together. We now have an 11 year old daughter....so I guess we're doing pretty well.

Every once in a while, I want to put him in the dog house for a while, but I love him dearly and I would do it all over again in a minute!

Oh! His eyes laughed. All the time. He was so wonderful to be around. I didn't care what we did, I just liked being around him. He lived in the next town. A collage kid (or so I though). Even though I loved being with him, near him and talking to him... I felt selfish every time I though of starting a relationship. I mean.. I was an accountant. I painted commercial properties on the weekends to pay my gas bill. He was carefree and going to school everyday. I remember very clearly. I was sitting across from him at a restaurant (outside on the walk way downtown) "God, I know it is selfish, but please. Goodness please let me keep him in my life." I felt terrible about wishing for it immediately.... then one night we were chatting away and next thing you know he is driving to my apartment to watch 007. We passed out on the couch. For the very first time in my life I wasn't afraid and checking the doors to be sure they were locked. I wasn't double and triple checking the windows. I wasn't jumping at the slightest sounds in the hall outside. I slept for the first time in years. We have been together ever since. Nearly 10 years. Gosh, I sure don't know how my family happened. It all just fell into place piece by piece and my goodness! I love every single day!

Believe it or not, I was dancing in a club in the 1970s, and my soon to be husband was playing in the band. 35 years later still together

I am on my second marriage.

I met my DH to be through working as restaurant managers for the same company. His cousin was my boss. We met and a week later were together and within a month or so moved in together. Got married a few months later. We have now been together for 19 years. Wow, doesn't seem like that long.

Jim, Sorry for the lateness of this post, but I just thought focusing on happiness was the way to go today.
I met my fiance September 2008 when my neighbor and friend set me up with a man her husband worked with who had not had a serious relationship. I had gotten out of a really bad marriage and didn't want love, just a person who would like to go to a movie, dinner, or play video games with me. Well I got all that and more! Shortly after we met, the pain became unbearable, and he has helped with everything ever since. He loves me for who and what I am, not what I may be in the future.

We will exchange vows this October 7, 2011 at 6 pm. It will be a beautiful ceremony with our family, friends, and my sons and nieces standing with us. I can not wait to be his wife on paper and in name, and not just in practice.
