Ok, so now I'm loosing it.  I actually fell out of a king sized bed (very, very high) this morning about 5:00.  I have no idea what happened, but I was dreaming and I somehow managed to fall with the bed steps (yeah it's that high) on my ribs, an antique chair on my shoulder and my legs wedged between the wall and the bed.  OMG, I thought I was going to pass out.  I was screaming for my husband, who I thought was in the kitchen, and ended up waking up my daughter.  She went and got my husband (who was still sleeping) in the other room.  (No, we're not fighting...it's just a way for each of us to actually rest when we sleep).  Anyway, he does the "how in the H... did you get like that?" to which I just moaned.  Then he helped me up and got me some juice to get my blood sugars up and some meds and I stayed in the recliner and then on the couch for a few hours.

I'm up now, but I'm sore beyond words.  I have no idea what is going on right now.  The foot thing has become feet that are killing me and the legs are joining in.  I think it's an achilies tendon thing (but I'm trying to wait it out by using orthodics and trying to take it easy).  I have two Dr's apts next week and more the following week.  If I could just keep from doing stupid things like falling out of a bed maybe I could get better!!!

Please excuse if I don't respond to everybody for the next few days....I'm pretty tender right now and the computer is a little more difficult than I thought.

Hope each of you has a great week ahead!

Oh My Lord! How did you do that? smhair

You must be a mover and a shaker in bed! So sorry to hear this. No matter how you fall, it is scary!

We also have a King Size bed, but ours is split, with actually two Twins put together. Maybe you can lay a pillow or two around the bed in case this happens again? That would freak me out to say the least. Take it easy and rest up.

Oh goodness, I am so sorry to hear about your fall! What a terrible awakening!! Heck of a way to start your day! I so understand feeling dumb about crazy things like that....I was trying to catch a cat the other day....(she was going to get spayed and I think she knew it) She hid behind the bed and as I was trying to grab her, while sitting on the bed, I fell over sideways and smacked my head on the window sill! Not sure how I did that either....but never tried to catch myself....just fell right over! I have a big knot on my head! My sister (damouthy1) said it was really hard not to laugh....but she wanted to! So I know how you feel....kinda....not everything is hurting!! But thanks for sharing, so I know I am not the only one!

Hope you get to feeling better fast!

Hugs,
Beckey

Hi RM. Ugh. I can't believe you fell! That is terrible.

I wanted to give you a suggestion about your feet. When my feet get bad, I wrap them with an Ace Bandage. I don't know if that would work for you, but it does help me tremendously. I have had my therapist wrap it for me before too.

So, I wouldn't know if you should ask your doctor before trying it. I am not trying to push you to try it either. I'm just suggesting it and thinking that maybe it could help.

I hope that you get rest, and use lots of ice and heat if you're able.

I'm so sorry that you fell Retired. I did something a lot more stupid than falling out of bed. I was up on the bed trying to reach to hang a sheet back over the window and instead of sitting and scooting off the bed, I stepped off the bed. Needless to say, I broke my right foot and ankle. So, don't feel bad about falling out of bed. That wasn't your fault. It just happened, ok? I hope you're feeling better really soon, bless your heart. Take care.

love and hugs

RM so sorry this has happened. My bed is up high too, I have a step stool thingy to get in the bed. I have fallen out of the bed before and know your pain all too well. It will get worse over the next couple of days, then hopefully it will start to settle down. Sometimes, I wonder if I need a lower bed because many times I have almost fell on the stool getting in & out of bed. Take care.
