Good Morning Chronic Pain Family!
It is another beautiful Monday morning! With a little luck, you are one of the many that are enjoying a day off to celebrate Presidents' Day. If you are a parent to little ones, then you will enjoy a day off from the children. I don't know about any of you, but here, our children are already making up for snow days. Just because it is a holiday for all our Americans does not mean there is any less work to do. There are still tasks to complete, jobs to do and appointments that need to be kept.
Often times we are so busy supporting others that we forget to update about ourselves. So, before we get too wrapped up in starting out the week... Please, stop by and let us know how you are doing. Give us an update. We want to know how you are doing. Even you old time veterans who are lurking.
How are you feeling?
What is your pain scale today?
What are your major plans for the week?

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood

Feeling good mentally......and physcially I'm drained because of a huge jump in my pain over the weekend.

Pain scale today is a 8...better then over the weekend which it raged at a 10!

Major plans this week........doc appt on Tue starts off my week,. We get to go over the xrays that were done two months ago! Wed is payday so it will be running errands and paying bills for me. Waiting on a couple of packages this week. My new supply of e-cigs should be in this week and I'm expecting another package as well. This next weekend will be spent doing nothing because I just want to rest LOL.

I went to the Dr last week, and found that the spot on my foot was a corn. He scraped it down and told me to buy those corn removal pads. We also went over my blood test for the cholesterol check, and the numbers looked great from the one done 30 days ago. I had stopped taking my meds for it after my surgery! On it now though!
We also went over my pain med's again, and after I confessed that I had changed my schedule on the oxycontin (taking them both in the morning to get through my working hours) he upped them by 20mg a day. It may seem like a small amount, but it does make a big difference. Right now, I'm in a good comfort zone that I can handle. I just hope I can stay there for a while! smilewinkgrin
Hope you all have a great week!

Well, the pain's been on the rise, I'm going on day three with very little sleep, I fell off a step ladder yesterday, and I only have one limb left that hasn't needed a bandage so far this week. But I also found these forums last night, and I've been reading through them since. Today is going to be a good day. I already feel it. Things will happen, but I'll weather the storm and be happy. Also the BBQ and board games later today should be quite fun. These turn around days are the best kind of days :-).

I'm still confused by all the pain scales, but if I go with http://www.wemsi.org/painscale.html, then I guess I'd have to mark a 7, with hopeful outlooks to reduce.

If I'm lucky I'm going to pull off a dr visit this week. Either way I'm looking forward to the launch of a new program at work that I have been working on for months with a few other coworkers and we're all quite excited about.

Here's hoping the best for everyone!

I haven't been around much - dealing with lots of ups and downs pain wise right now and frustrated by the waiting for appointments to see specialists.

In addition to all my other health stuff, I now have tendinitis in my right elbow and I've done something to my right knee as well - it often "collapses" on me going up or down stairs with a sudden sharp pain on the outer left side of the knee. I am going for x-rays tomorrow for elbow, knee and hip (the one the MRI was done on - I'm getting more pain in the hip and she wants to see if anything new shows on the x-ray compared to the MRI).

It's been since July of last year that I've been waiting to get an appointment with a particular orthopedic surgeon in town re: my hip and I still don't have a date to see him. We are now looking for other doctors in Alberta...I'll travel anywhere in the province (or Canada for that matter) if it means seeing someone sooner rather than later.

My husband and I are going on our first cruise at the end of March, leaving from Miami to the West Caribbean. I really want to be able to relax and enjoy the trip, without stressing about doctors and health issues, so it would sure be nice to have a date to meet with someone before I go...to ease my mind.

I've just started Tramadol as part of my meds because the Tramacet wasn't helping with the break through pain all that well. I can take both, but no more than 8 Tramacet during a 24 hour period and 1 100mg Tramadol XR at night for now, to see how that works. So far, it's made me dizzy and nauseous (not fun when you can't actually throw up physically) but it does seem to be helping a bit.

Hope everyone gets to experience some low pain days soon - to remind you that they do exist and they are possible to achieve.

ps: Oh yeah...I finally had a brain MRI done for dizziness and loss of balance issues I was experiencing last year that weren't related to medicine. The symptoms have mainly disappeared, but my doctor told me to go ahead and have it done. If nothing is found, then we have a baseline in case there are any other problems later in life. I wrote on Facebook that I hoped they'd find something...I sure left myself open for comments on that one!!
