Hello Kindred sprit's
I have battled low back (now knee pain as well) for years. Opioids caused more misery then they helped.
I weaned off onto Suboxone and it was cakewalk as far as the withdrawals. I've gone through detox of 400mg a day Morphine so I know withdrawals. Sub. is awesome and does help pain although not as good as other opoids. I feel if the pain gets to be too much, I'd go back on a low dose (1mg X a day) but just need to hear others expirence so maybe I can find what works best. i'm up for my, who knows maybe 40th nerve block.
They once worked well but not so much now.
I have tried accupunture with mild help, excercise, ablations well name it I most likely tried it.
My problem began with an auto accident that disturbed a "spondyloletheisis" and i had surgery to fuse L3 to sacrum. one screw broke and the pain has been tough since then.
I take aspirin, swith to motrin then aleve and take tylenol once in a while. I have tramadol but it constipates me as I use it sparenly.
Well any suggestions are welcome

Do you notice anything different in your life with the recent worse pain? For me sometimes there is no reason so that can be too. Have you looked into other treatments? I am not sure for your condition but maybe if you see a pain doctor who deals with this there would be another treatment to look in to when meds etc are not helping

I already have a pain doc. Roosevelt hospital. I've tried most everything. I was hoping something new came along.
I see a snail venom may be promising but very new in clinical trials

Glen if you are talking about PRIALT do your home work and really well. Prialt is a very dangerous drug and one of our mods here had it put in her pump and it was not good. Lots and lots of psychological problems as well with it. I normally never blast a drug but this one, forget it, if it was the only thing available, I would pass on it.

Let us know what you find out. Are you having trouble finding something to help with your pain? Has your dr ever talked about putting in an intrathecal pain pump?

Thanks for the heads up on Prialt. I did read about it. Did not think it was even in use yet.
I'm wary of any narcotics, I become dependant rather quickly and need more then I get.
The only opioid I'd take would be suboxone or more clearly, bupe.
I hope one day there is a safer narcotic for now it must be buprenephrine if anything
