Tuesday Koffee Klatch

If you are new to this forum family then you may be wondering what kind of goofy question is that on a health care forum. idea   We all suffer with medical conditions and with most of us there is pain involved...sometimes a lot of pain. Or maybe you are the loved one of one of these persons. This forum is all about how we help and support each other, how we gain back more quality to our lives, and how we can learn and share what we gain along the way and hopefully make not only our lives better but the lives of others who come to join us.

But we need to also remember that there is the other side of life...the side that isn't concentrated on illness and pain. That's why we started the daily Koffee Klatch. This is a time to laugh, reminisce, chit-chat about the silly things in our lives...all fun things and no pain. In fact the 'P' word is not allowed...  turn    So each day we share our thoughts or experiences on a different topic. Often it includes food, sometimes we talk about our past, and other times we just get goofy! Laughter is our goal. So, please join us whether this is your very first day on Healing Well or you're a seasoned veteran.

Daily Question:

How much time do you spend on the computer each day?

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood

Far too much, probably *laugh* My computer is my lifeline to the world. My closest friends are interstate or overseas, so we tend to rely on email, MSN or Skype for keeping in touch. Internet forums kept me stay sane when times aren't so good, and some of my distractions - tablet-based drawing for example - are computer based.

After all the morning stuff is complete. Breakfast buffet, beauty, bus, general clean, et al. Then I sit on my computer and turn my little heater on. I get about an hour in. Then I have to get down to the larger tasks of the day. Laundry, linen change, mop, vacuum...  (hopefully jewelry!!)..

After the  the second wave is done and supper is cleaned up. Another general clean, then WOO! I get some computer time! 6 to about 8 or 8:30. So, 2 and half hours.

Then you guessed it...  story & giggle time, preparations for the next day...  Then Aaah! I can go back and to jewelry. After that, about another hour on computer around 12am to 1am.

I guess about 4 hours total. HUmm.. doesn't seem like that much time, come think of it. smilewinkgrin

My job at work requires that I monitor a very large milling machine, and I do mean very large! shocked

The machine is NC controlled, and we have to have access to the intranet to download programs and such.

There are days that I may change out 30 cutters a day and clear the paths of Titanium Chips, and then there are days, that I may run a cutter path all day long, with nothing to do but sit and watch it run.

We are allowed to use the internet for personal reasons, as long as it is not too excessive, and the rules are different from shop to shop. As long as our machines are running, and our work area is clean, we are allowed to surf the internet. When I do spend time on the computer, it is usually to do reserch, as I enjoy educating myself in several different areas of interest. Of course, most of my time is spent right here on the forum, and rightly so, as most of my friends reside here.

I also support several members here on the forum, via text and email, on a daily basis, and I enjoy this greatly. My interest vary greatly and include Cooking, Motorcycles, Photography, CP, Travel, Religion, eBay, and so on! smilewinkgrin

So in essence, I can spend several hours a day to just a few minutes a day, but I try to at least educate myself in some way or support others when doing so.

When I get home, I usually hit the bed within 30min's and may spend a little bit of time on the computer, but not much, as Im exhausted and sore. Latley, I have been shutting down the computer in the evenings, as I dont want to be bothered while I'm relaxing after a hard day at work. Our shop has been working 7 days a week, and it has taken a toll on me,.....Plus, I want to spend some quality time with that beautiful wife of mine! smilewinkgrin

        SE wink
