I take methotrexate as a disease modifier for RA on Wednesday nights.  Thurdays are my worst.  My muscles ache, my head and stomach is woosey, my joints are all flaired up, it hurts to sit still, let alone move.  I am so fatigued that I feel like I don't want to nap, but I don't want to move either.
I plan not to do things on Thursdays, but I get behind on housework and everything and then I'm stuck playing catch-up the rest of the week, and I never have the energy to do all that is needed.
I'm just feeling sorry for myself.

Methotrexate is a powerful drug, used as well in chemotherapy for cancer. Unfortunately, like those with cancer, the day or two after treatment tend to be quite severe. Hopefully your doctor has also prescribed anti-nausea drugs for Thursday and Friday!

In my own case, better and worse days are primarily related to my level of activity and the weather... but there is no pattern tied to my medication. Today, I should be working hard on a project that is due soon, but can't quite get myself started.
C4-T4 Scoliosis (disk degeneration, stenosis, narrowed neuroforamen, bone spurs), RT hip and SI joint damage from car accident. Also, Supraventricular tacycardia and mitral valve prolapse syndrome.
Current meds: Ultram ER 300mg daily, breakthrough - hydrocodone 10-15mg, or oxycodone 5-7.5mg. .25-.5mg ativan as needed for sleep, Verapamil 240mg SR (for tachycardia).

Yep, methotrexate is a very powerful drug. I had to take it for a short time a few years ago - and it was harsh. I'm sorry you are feeling so yucky - and you are NOT feeling sorry for yourself!!

Wednesdays are usually my worst day; sometimes Thursdays. I'm usually just wiped from the week. By Friday, I get a second wind, knowing that my husband will be home and can help a bit, and that school for the kids is done. It's tough managing an illness/pain with "real" life that keeps going on no matter what! Sometimes, I wish I could press "pause".

Hang in there.

My worse days hmm..
Everyday I have to go to work and put away stock or be on my feet for 4 straight hours. Every time I have brain fog and my employees ask me one of those questions they should know the answer to(as well as me) and I can't put the words together to form a sentence.
Now when I start methotrexate this weekend, I believe those will be my worse days.
I hope you feel much better tomorrow. Hang in there and don't worry about the housework. Easier said than done right? Someone once told me here, with what we have..enjoy the time we have and don't sweat the little stuff. It will be there tomorrow. Take care!!(((HUGS))) Heather smilewinkgrin
