Hi All,my oral surgery went well. Just a little swelling and moderate pain. I found a 1/2 of tablet of percocet 5 mg didnt do much so I have been taking a whole tab and that works much better. I hope everyone has a low pain weekend.

Hello Kim and glad to hear your oral surgery went well and I can certainly see how 2.5mgs of perc wouldnt have done much for any pain must less a post op.

I know my surgeons order post op is 2 percs every 4-6hrs around the clock for the 1st 24hrs and then down to 1 every 4-6 until you dont need them. Cant imagine a half.

I sure wouldnt worry over that. Keep getting better and healing and this might be your worst day as it usually is post-op for oral surgeries and by tommorow you should be better.

My thoughts are with you for a speedy recovery

Thanks Nvr,the instructions on the bottle said to take 1/2 to 1 tab every 4-6 hrs as needed for pain. So im following the surgeons instructions. Im also have to take ibuprofren twice a day for swelling.

the motrin will help you just about as much since the actual swelling causes alot of the pain so make sure you take that. If your not getting adeqaute relief by the ordered dose dont hesitate to call them and get their advice.

hoping your doing better soon.

The 1 tab of percocet lasts me about 6 hrs and the ibuprofren is helping the swelling.

So glad that it is over! Thanks so much for updating us. *hugg* Sounds like you are recovering nicely. Remember that tea bags can help as well, though minimally. Try to rest while the pain is low. Take care and hang in there!
