Friday Koffee Klatch
If you are new to this forum family then you may be wondering what kind of goofy question is that on a health care forum. idea   We all suffer with medical conditions and with most of us there is pain involved...sometimes a lot of pain. Or maybe you are the loved one of one of these persons. This forum is all about how we help and support each other, how we gain back more quality to our lives, and how we can learn and share what we gain along the way and hopefully make not only our lives better but the lives of others who come to join us.

But we need to also remember that there is the other side of life...the side that isn't concentrated on illness and pain. That's why we started the daily Koffee Klatch. This is a time to laugh, reminisce, chit-chat about the silly things in our lives...all fun things and no pain. In fact the 'P' word is not allowed...  turn    So each day we share our thoughts or experiences on a different topic. Often it includes food, sometimes we talk about our past, and other times we just get goofy! Laughter is our goal. So, please join us whether this is your very first day on Healing Well or you're a seasoned veteran.
Daily Question:
What flavor do you use in your coffee or tea?
(Lemon, french vanilla...)

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood

I use raw sugar, but not much, and what ever I can find in the kitchen...Mocha, Capa, Cream, or what ever the wifey is hidding.
Love cold brew tea, and use lemon when we have it, ......and I'm a bit of a Brit, so I will add cream to it as well from time to time.
Thought it would be interesting to see what kind of Coffee everyone else drinks as well!
We buy the Black Silk Folgers brand and run it through a Bunn coffee maker. Love the Bunn's! smilewinkgrin   Coffee in less than 3min's!

I never was into tea hot or cold.  I can only really enjoy cold peach tea and hot earl grey with cream and sweetener now that I have acquired the taste a bit.  I am a big coffee drinker, although less to lately because I was taking so much MO.  Even when I am in a manic I will simply switch to decaf rather than give it up.
I drink my coffee with cream and sweetener. I keep hazelnut and vanilla in the house for flavors, but I don't always use it.  My husband pours half a pouch of hot coco into his coffee.  At church I enjoy the cream berle (sp?) as a treat.  But to keep it a treat I won't buy it for the house.
When I am in a "depression swing" I seep an earl grey pouch in a mug of hot coffee.  It has a deep, rich flavor and smell that somehow gets past my depression numbness block. With cream and sweetener I spend a lot of time just smelling it before I drink it.

I rarely drink tea, but I have a cup of coffee every morning. I neither use sugar, milk or anything else and it bothers me to no end that my wife uses french vanilla coffee mate. For ordinary coffee, I can understand why. But I roast the beans myself -- yes ROAST. I buy my coffee green and about twice a month, spend a few hours roasting.

Though roasting takes time and and practice, it is actually a great savings (top quality beans are $4-$6 per pound) and I can select beans from specific coffee estates around the world, with all their respective flavor nuances.

But ARG!!! french vanilla!

It is somewhat of an art form to be able to do this isn't it?
Do you do it in your oven, or maybe an outdoor grill/smoker?
Again Two Thumbs up for you! smilewinkgrin

3/4 decaf coffee with 1/2 cup skim milk and a little cane sugar x2 in the morning curled up on the heating pad. 2 to 3 cups tea, usually decaf, various flavors, usually green, afternoon or evening with a little sugar.

I don't tolerate sweeteners or creamers (sulfites). Moving down to skim milk was good for my cholesterol and weight. I don't miss the greasy creaminess.
