I was called by my doctor's office yesterday to come in asap to go over my test results, so they squeezed me in first thing this morning.

My blood work shows that my cholesterol is quite high and so are my blood sugars (using the 3 month average). Some of my x-rays are back - and the hips and my lower spine are showing very pronounced signs of osteoarthritis, so that's one more "official" diagnosis to add to the list.

My knee and elbow x-rays weren't in yet so she will probably get the results in the next day or so. Hubby and I leave on Saturday for our West Caribbean cruise, so she told me she'll call me when they come in and leave me a message that I can pick up at my leisure.

My steroid injection into the hip is scheduled for April 6th, just days after we return, and then I see the surgeon again 6 weeks after having the injection done. At that point, we decide if surgery is the answer or not, and if it is....we book it. I have no idea how long of a wait there will be for surgery if it's necessary...our wait times in Canada for procedures like that are about 8 months to 18 months long.

I'm glad things are finally happening, even if there will still be long wait times for surgery if necessary, or other treatments. In the meantime, I'm moving into vacation mode - getting things packed, etc. for our cruise, so no matter what the future holds, right now, I'm overwhelmed with excitement and joy!

Take care all...my prayers are with each of you, that your pain may be lessened and your quality of life will improve.

Big Hugs!!

   Dear Pam,

It is so good to hear from you *hugg* Though goodness, that is a lot you have on your plate now. I remember of course you mentioning the increases in pain. I am so sorry that it turned out to be so badly damaged. I do not know if you are having the same injections in your hips that I get, but the difference for me is like night and day. Stiff, sore and a moderate "ache" but that is all. I really hope they help you.

The blood sugar and cholesterol is very concerning. What is she planning on doing so that you may treat it? Is there anyway that you can begin treatment before your vacation??

I really hope you are able to enjoy yourself on the cruise. I cannot think of anyone more deserving. You have been through so much that it is high time you were able to relax. Try hard to not over due it while you are gone. We will say an extra prayer that your pain levels are manageable!

Be safe and above all HAVE FUN!!!

*warm hugg*

And sorry I could not travel both
