Hi all. I hope everyone is doing well and having a low pain day. I just wanted to let you all know that I had my biopsy done this morning. Everything went fine, although the placement of the guide wire was very painful!

For those of you who don't know, I had a lymph node removed from my neck for biopsy. Well, as it turns out, he took out two of them. I am not sure why as I didn't get to talk to him after surgery. I am a little concerned about this because the whole point of using the guide wire was to take the biggest node and not have to search around for it.

While I was in recovery he went out and talked to my Sis to tell her all went well and that's when he told her he removed another one lower on my neck also. He did not offer an explanation as to why and she didn't think to ask. So, I guess when I see him on Wed. I can find out.

My neck is pretty sore now and swollen, but I am doing pretty good. Now the wait and worry for the results. I will post when I hear something.

Take care all and as always, love ya guys bunches!
Gentle Hugs,
Shannon

Hi Shannon,
When my sister had biopsies done, they also took more than one node, the reason being to make sure that the bad cells hadn't spread into another area. So they took one close to the suspected area and then another one or two from a more distal area.
I understand your concern, but think your surgeon should have explained the reasons to your sister or to you, in the recovery room.
Hang in there Shannon,
Sandi

Thanks so much Sandi, Paula and Kim. I really appreciate your well wishes. I hadn't thought of it that way Sandi, that does make sense. I guess it's just a waiting game now.

My neck is huge this morning! I have alot of swelling, but it's not interferring with my breathing or swallowing so I guess it's ok. I hope you all have a wonderful day. Take care.

Oh Shannon!

Goodness, it is so good to hear from you. *hugg*  How are you feeling today? Hopefully, you are able to get a little bit of rest.  I am very glad it is all done now. I remember December? When they finally figured out they were lymph nodes and then the long wait to see a surgeon. Gosh, I sure am glad it is finally done. It was so hard to read what was happening to you. To know what you were enduring through each day. I do wish he would have told Becky why he took two. If you get a chance, let us know what you find out tomorrow. Above all rest as much as your body will let you.

Always in our hearts and prayers

*warm hugg*

Oh Shannon I'm so glad that it's all over with. I know it had to be extremely hard to wait all that time. I'll be praying that everything turns out negative. Take care of yourself.

Thank you all so very much! Just knowing I have so many people sending prayers and positive thoughts my way makes me feel so much better. I really appreciate all of you.

I see my surgeon today, so I am hoping to find something out. At least I can ask why he took an extra node out. I will post when I get back. Once again, thank you so much family! Take care.
Gentle Hugs,
Shannon

Hey all, I just wanted to stop by and let you know I didn't really find out anything at my appt. yesterday. He said he wont have the results for about a week. I did ask why he took out two nodes and he said because they were both very enlarged and he wanted the lab to have good samples.

So, I guess I just have to be patient. It's so hard for me, I am the most impatient person I know! Oh well, not a thing I can do to change it. I hope you all are doing great. Talk to you soon. Take care.

Oh gosh Shannon *warm hugg* I am so sorry you have to wait so long. Him saying you had two very swollen nodes is scary. Try to do anything you can to keep your mind on different things. How is your post-op pain? Are you able to stay in comfortable pain levels?

*hugg*
