Tuesday Koffee Klatch

If you are new to this forum family then you may be wondering what kind of goofy question is that on a health care forum. idea   We all suffer with medical conditions and with most of us there is pain involved...sometimes a lot of pain. Or maybe you are the loved one of one of these persons. This forum is all about how we help and support each other, how we gain back more quality to our lives, and how we can learn and share what we gain along the way and hopefully make not only our lives better but the lives of others who come to join us.

But we need to also remember that there is the other side of life...the side that isn't concentrated on illness and pain. That's why we started the daily Koffee Klatch. This is a time to laugh, reminisce, chit-chat about the silly things in our lives...all fun things and no pain. In fact the 'P' word is not allowed...  turn    So each day we share our thoughts or experiences on a different topic. Often it includes food, sometimes we talk about our past, and other times we just get goofy! Laughter is our goal. So, please join us whether this is your very first day on Healing Well or you're a seasoned veteran.

My doctors office is calm. He has relaxing muzic playing and the receptionist speaks soflty. I never wait longer than 5 minutes . Doctor and I have known each other for 20 years and he usually gets me smiling at some point during the appointment.

Soft hugs

My PCP's office has a calm atmosphere, but you can tell that this is just a job for the girls out front.

My doctor's office is welcoming. They are helpful and warm people. There are always issues with paperwork, authorizations, schedules and miscommunications. They really listen if there are issues. They follow through on fixing things. They are in a city, so the door to the office is locked, but they allow you inside that door to a lovely, full office with real plants and a doctor who hugs his patients.

Very nice but my PM Doctor really, I mean really does not like his job, he is short and snapps at you, even his secretary has made comments plus the people waiting to see him. I also see his brother for pysch( that is in the same office.) These two are like night and day. My phychologist is sweet,outgoing,understanding,helpful..mmnn wonder what happened between these two?

All of my doctors and specialists offices are very well managed and every detail to comfort is taken in the waiting rooms. Staff all friendly. I have run into a couple of nurses and an receptionist that have forgotten their place and job title. They didn't last long.

...but now spine specialists have another location in the major city hospital. I seldom have had to go down there. I am usually seen in my small town. After going down there a couple of times the first thing out of my mouth was "WOW! No wonder you have endless patience!" Seriously, folks. There were "Hospital Security". They had "hospital pharmacy" on the other side and people non stop wanting to talk with their doctors about medications. Folks getting angry with the pharmacists every 3 minutes. Some being escorted off the property.  I tell you... mad house!  shocked   Scared me half to death!  skull   I only had to go there.. humm I think 3 times, maybe 4 in the 3 years I have seen spine specialists. I heard they got a new wing added to the hospital and pharmacy was moved.

Hi,

My Drs office is busy, he works in a walk in clinic in the downtown area so the office has people from every walk of life. The staff are RUDE and they seem so proud of yelling at little old ladies or telling a parent to control their child. When I call in to make the appt to see Dr they are rude on the phone as well and if I didn't like my Dr so much I would try to find another one. Now every referral Dr he sends me to has a big beautiful office with lots of staff who dress in the most recent styles. Their staff usually talks down to me because I limp a little bit and certainly do not bother wearing my Sunday best just to get down to my birthday suit and cover up with a cold paper sheet I prefer to stay warm so I dress in layers. Sorry I blab too much, lol
