Friday Koffee Klatch

If you are new to this forum family then you may be wondering what kind of goofy question is that on a health care forum. idea   We all suffer with medical conditions and with most of us there is pain involved...sometimes a lot of pain. Or maybe you are the loved one of one of these persons. This forum is all about how we help and support each other, how we gain back more quality to our lives, and how we can learn and share what we gain along the way and hopefully make not only our lives better but the lives of others who come to join us.

But we need to also remember that there is the other side of life...the side that isn't concentrated on illness and pain. That's why we started the daily Koffee Klatch. This is a time to laugh, reminisce, chit-chat about the silly things in our lives...all fun things and no pain. In fact the 'P' word is not allowed...  turn    So each day we share our thoughts or experiences on a different topic. Often it includes food, sometimes we talk about our past, and other times we just get goofy! Laughter is our goal. So, please join us whether this is your very first day on Healing Well or you're a seasoned veteran.

Daily Question:

Koffee Klatch is going to be canceled for the rest of summer.
I will be back in Fall and will continue it then.

It was about 4 years ago, the boys were 8 and 7. I made pork stir fry for dinner with a sweet ginger sauce. They never had either before. They asked what it was, and I told them cat.
They cried for 15 minutes until I convinced them by showing them all 5 of our cats at the time.

I am such a mean mom!

It might be worth noting that we have Minor's who are members of this forum, and we need to be careful of the content we post here.

Please post you're replies keeping this in mind.

both my grandchildren are off school today, and are with me..my 9 year old grandaughter wanted to go to the dollar store. (i feel so fortunately dollars store is still great to both of them) i told her we were going then on the way there i said i  couldnot find my atm card.  she did her best to show her concern for my lost card, but could not quite overcome her disappointment. finally i told her i had the card and said april fool.  her relief was visable, but she did tell me "nini dont do that please". i had a great laugh, part of the reason i feel so good is my grandchildren, my 5 years grandson is starting soccer tomorrow, this will really take me back to watching and riding from county to county for my daughters sports.  i love it yeah

I've had fun a couple of times on April 1.

The easiest is the Ritz Cracker Apple Pie. It really does taste like apple pie, but there are NO apples, just the crackers. I'm sure you can find the recipe on the web and make it in time for supper.

Another good one was taking a big bucket of toad eggs and tadpoles to my son's school - K or 1. I gave a few in a ziplock bag to each kid. The food is just boiled lettuce! You have to boil it until it gets soft enough for the tadpoles to be able to suck it up like they do rotting vegetation at the bottom of a pond. When they start to get legs they need a little rock to get out of the water and start breathing air. Best part is when they get all their legs and start losing their tails they need to be let go in a wet area so they can go off and catch bugs.
