Saturday Koffee Klatch
If you are new to this forum family then you may be wondering what kind of goofy question is that on a health care forum. idea   We all suffer with medical conditions and with most of us there is pain involved...sometimes a lot of pain. Or maybe you are the loved one of one of these persons. This forum is all about how we help and support each other, how we gain back more quality to our lives, and how we can learn and share what we gain along the way and hopefully make not only our lives better but the lives of others who come to join us.

But we need to also remember that there is the other side of life...the side that isn't concentrated on illness and pain. That's why we started the daily Koffee Klatch. This is a time to laugh, reminisce, chit-chat about the silly things in our lives...all fun things and no pain. In fact the 'P' word is not allowed...  turn    So each day we share our thoughts or experiences on a different topic. Often it includes food, sometimes we talk about our past, and other times we just get goofy! Laughter is our goal. So, please join us whether this is your very first day on Healing Well or you're a seasoned veteran.

Me 2 . Cooked at a campfire is even better, but grills are easier. Add new potatos, onions, tomatos and mushrooms in a skillet over the coals, hot apple cider and cold lemonaide and Ill be there.

I love shiskabobs. Nothing better than early evening with the grill going. Ice tea and some R&R.

Not too sure I have any real favorites.

I love to grill or cook over a camp fire which always makes things taste so much better.

One meal I do love to make once the fresh veggies come in is stuffed green peppers, green beans and corn on the cob.

Kind of expensive, but we splurge every once in a while.

BBQ reminds me of the carefree days of being a kid. We used to BBQ a lot in the summer. Things like chicken, ribs, etc. Now I can't recall the last time. We used to make a similar veg dish on the grill. You take tin foil and place slice potatoes, onions, carrots, probably other veggies would work like squash. Anyhow you drizzle a little olive oil or similar, sprinkle season salt, pepper, paprika and wrap up grill. So yum especially with a litlle bbq sauce.

I really like the variety of summer foods after the fairly monotonous winter. But my favorite is actually a chipotle corn chowder. I think it's funny that out of all the summer foods that my favorite is a soup, which is usually a winter food. But it's just so tasty, and these last couple years I've been slowly developing my own recipe. I usually make a huge pot full and then eat it with every meal for the whole week (and sometimes sneak in a small cupful as a snack :-)).
