Many have you seen a gi dr before? If not, perhaps your PCP can refer you to one just to check some things out. I have severe acid reflux and Gerd and it can be miserable at times. Pretty much, medications, elevating the head of your bed and watching your diet is what you can do for this problem.I eat a lot of Rolaids and Tums in addition to 40mg of Aciphex a day. Wish I could tell you something more but this is what I ahve ended up with too.

If you are having problems with constipation from pain medications eating 4-5 prunes a day works very well. Others have used Miralax which is a stool softener and it has been helpful. There are various OTC meds out there for this problem.

          Hello Manny49!
Welcome to the CP forum! wink
I have to agree with Stray here! I used to have acid reflux something terrible, but found that diet helped suppress most of it. We bought a tempur-pedic bed that lifts, and that helps as well. Before we bought that, I stuck some boards under the head end of the bed and that worked pretty well too!
Prunes, are one of the best, and are a natural remedy for constipation. A high fiber diet with lots of water is recomended too!
Acid reflux is miserable at anytime, but seems worse when your tired and cannot sleep in the middle of the night. Please follow up with you PCD or as sugested by Straydog possibly a GI.
Sorry, but I really did not have anything new to offer. I really wanted to welcome you here, and confirm what Straydog suggested.
           Take care,
      SE wink
