Saturday Koffee Klatch

If you are new to this forum family then you may be wondering what kind of goofy question is that on a health care forum. idea   We all suffer with medical conditions and with most of us there is pain involved...sometimes a lot of pain. Or maybe you are the loved one of one of these persons. This forum is all about how we help and support each other, how we gain back more quality to our lives, and how we can learn and share what we gain along the way and hopefully make not only our lives better but the lives of others who come to join us.

But we need to also remember that there is the other side of life...the side that isn't concentrated on illness and pain. That's why we started the daily Koffee Klatch. This is a time to laugh, reminisce, chit-chat about the silly things in our lives...all fun things and no pain. In fact the 'P' word is not allowed...  turn    So each day we share our thoughts or experiences on a different topic. Often it includes food, sometimes we talk about our past, and other times we just get goofy! Laughter is our goal. So, please join us whether this is your very first day on Healing Well or you're a seasoned veteran.

Daily Question:

Are you clearing your property to get ready for spring? Or for some of you, gardening?

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood

Nothing is being done to our yaard at this time. Grass doesnt need cut and I havent been in the yard since October 2010 prior to my accident. To many tree roots to trip over with my walker.

about half of my yard has no grass -- in part due to a lack of sun, but also due to my dog running around. I had about a dozen trees removed or cut back from that area last Fall in order to get more sun and a few days ago had someone seed the area. I've been running the sprinklers 3x a day since and can now see a few patches of grass starting to emerge :) Hopefully, the area can get filled in this year as my wife and I are planning on selling the house next year.

Not to get ready for Spring (it's mid Autumn here) but we've got some clearing to do - a few trees that need cutting back and my vegie patch needs an overhaul. We had an unusually warm, humid summer here, so all my zucchinis and pumpkins ended up with powdery mildew, my lettuces and strawberries were all within the reach of one of my dogs and she ate the lot *giggle* My brother and his mate are also going to clear a patch of the yard so that we can put a big chook run in, and we're clearing out another area because we're going to get a couple of beehives later in the year.

My yard needs cleaned up still. Have quite a few tree limbs to take care of from a big ice storm this past winter, not to mention all the toys my kid has scattered everywhere in the back yard.

The big thing I need to do is fix my riding mower. The deck fell off during the last mow last fall and a couple days after that happened it turned wet and then cold and I started having flair ups.
