Good Morning to my HW family!

I haven't been posting much lately but wanted to drop in and say hi and give a quick update.

I've finally had an appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon regarding my hip impingement (CAM and Pincer) on the right side and the pain issues I've been dealing with, with that and the chronic pelvic pain (we're hoping that the pelvic pain is caused by the hips being out of alignment and that once that is fixed, the pelvic pain will be gone as well). He agrees there are definite problems there, but wanted to try a cortisone shot in the hip joint, to see what results I would get.

I haven't felt a lessening of the pain so much, but seemed to have greater flexibility afterward. I see him again on May 16th, and we'll decide then is surgery is the answer. I'm hoping it is (as much as anyone "hopes" to have surgery) as it would make a huge difference in my overall health.

Today, I'm off to my family doctor, to get the results of x-rays on my right knee (which started hurting and collapsing on me a few months ago) and my right elbow (pain and snapping of the tendon when I twist the arm at all). I am praying that there are only "minor" issues to deal with and these things will just become a pain in the butt instead of a real physical problem.

I do want to share some good news though...my hubby and I have just returned from a week long cruise in the West Caribbean! It was pure heaven from start to finish, I was treated like gold everywhere I went (my cane opened many hearts I think...I was constantly being ushered to the front of the line or bypassing the line altogether...I was overwhelmed by the many kindnesses shown to me, everywhere we went). It was our first cruise and my very first time going anywhere tropical, so definitely a dream come true. I was able to swim with stingrays in the open ocean, and play with baby turtles at the conservation centre in the Grand Cayman Islands. Other ports of call included Roatan Honduras, Belize and Cozumel, Mexico. We celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary (and 17 years together in total) and had just an amazing time.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do this, but if you would like to see my photos, you can click here: www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=349559&id=698022463&l=4ffd0ac3e4 MODS: let me know if I have to take this down - thanks!

I'm hoping to start posting a bit more. The last few months before our trip were really difficult for me - increased pain, new problems, drugs not working well, etc. You all know what I'm talking about. I closed myself off a bit, but I know that's not good for me to do, so I hope to stop by a bit more often to say hi and offer support.

   Good morning MsBunky!
Thank you for sharing the photos! It looks like you all had a wonderful time of it there! wink
I'm hoping that you can soon find some relief with the surgery if needed, and get back to some quality of life again.
I have not seen you post in quite some time, and it was nice to see an update here on you.
          Take care,
   SE wink

Hi Pam - SO good to hear from you... Yes, I've been following your pics on Faceook....you look so beautiful and so happy :) I hope you start posting more too - we've missed you.

I just got cortisone in my wrist and cervical region last week. I don' think it helped all that much this tme. I hope you can get the surgery and get your hips aligned. Ahhhh, that would be fantastic if you could get some pain reduction.

Anyway, SO good to hear from you.... Have a wonderful day and keep us posted. --Tina

Oh, the pics are awesome and made me very homesick for the beach, lol. I have always said in my other life I was a beach bum, lol. I am very partial to sand and sun. I think that getaway was probably what the dr ordered and maybe the best medicine for you.

I hope the appt goes well for you next month. No one ever likes to entertain the thought of surgery, but if it will take care of the problem it is well worth it. I have had more surgeries than I can care to count and so far knock on wood they have all taken care of the problem they were intended on taking care of.

Have you had an MRI on your knee? I do hope it all checks out ok. Meanwhile, I am back to looking at your pics again and going down memory lane. Thanks for posting them.

It's good to hear that you had so much fun on the cruise. I looked at your pics and they are wonderful. I've never been to the beach, must less a cruise. I hope you have a good appointment next month and that you get what you need. If it is surgery, please let us know when it's going to be, so we can be there for you. I'm glad to see you back. It sounds like the vacation was really good for you. Take care. I hope you're having a low pain night.

love and hugs
