Good Morning Chronic Pain Family!
It is another beautiful Monday morning! Time to drag our tired bodies out of bed and start the week. Now..  idea   if we could just find the magic life remote we could fast forward to Friday night. Regardless of tired, sore and exhausted bodies....  There are still tasks to complete, jobs to do and appointments that need to be kept.
Often times we are so busy supporting others that we forget to update about ourselves. So, before we get too wrapped up in starting out the week... Please, stop by and let us know how you are doing. Give us an update. We want to know how you are doing. Even you old time veterans who are lurking.
How are you feeling?
What was your pain scale over the weekend?
What are your major plans for the week?

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood

I'm stopping all my meds for a few days to see if there's a connection with my new dizziness and muscle twitches and spasms. I'm not taking much of anything except tramadol, Ambien and vitamins, so there's nothing I can't live without. I've taken tramadol for a long time, 50 mg TID. I've gone without before, so not expecting much of a withdrawal.

I saw a neurologist, got a brain MRI, but he didn't even make a return appointment. I have an appointment with my cardiologist, but he just keeps track of my cholesterol, currently good since I lost weight and gave up bread!

I have an appointment with pain doc in 2 weeks. If the dizziness and twitches do stop I'll ask to try something different for pain, or sleep, whichever I find is the culprit. Tylenol works for pain, but at the maximum dose level. I can't take anything (that works) on top of the tramadol - horribly sensitive to serotonin. A single Vicodin the same day as one tramadol is enough to set me off. I can take Vicodin instead of tramadol, and it helps, but I build up tolerance in a month, need to save it for surgery. I'll try whatever he says.

It's getting depressing not having adequate pain relief. Today was another breath-holding 6 day, with some really bad stabs. I'm not ready to settle for just coping yet.

My pain was pretty good during the weekend. I would say about a 4 or 5. I have an appointment Wednesday at 1pm to get a catscan of my thorax and two MRIs. One for my lumbar spine and one for my thoracic spine. My GP wanted to see if there's anything else going on with my back. As far as the catscan, they found a 2cm(or something like that) cyst in my thorax when they did the last MRI, so she wants to look at that at a different angle I guess. She wants it done with contrast and I've never had contrast, and I'm scared about getting that stuff put in my veins. I'm not comfortable with it, but I don't know what she would say if I asked her if it would be ok to do the scan without it. I guess I'll suck up and do it. That's all I've got going on this week.

Today it was supposed to rain, but it didn't and my pain was pretty good. Now I think it's going to sometime tonight because I can always tell when it's going to. Jerome calls me the weather lady because I can always tell when the barometric pressure is moving around and it's going to rain.

Well, i'll go now. Everyone take care and I hope you're all having a low pain night and get a good night's sleep.

love and hugs

My pain is pretty good because I would call it a 2-3 for the last 2 days. I went up to 4 tramadol a day on Monday and it took a couple of days for it to get good. On Saturday I was amazed that I felt so good. 2 is better than I have been in a long, long, time. I was more active today than I have been in months, and I feel it. I assume I will crash after the move, but for now I don't have enough time.
Today I packed several boxes and sorted food, and cleaned up a bit under what I had boxed. I got my oldest to a dr's appt, and stopped at the store to grab some last minute groceries. I oversaw the kids packing their clothes (almost as hard as doing it myself). Kitchen is nearly done, office is done, living room is staging area, but the clutter is gone. My bedroom is nearly done, but the kids bedroom might eat me if I go in there right now.
Closing day is Friday, moving day is Saturday. Crash day is Monday throgh Wednesday because I have to get ready for easter weekend on Thursday.

I'm not good right now. My knee has been diagnosed as an MCL tear. It's low grade, but the problem with injuries and CRPS is that there is a lot of central sensitisation going on - so the pain of any injury to an affected area is amplified quite dramatically. My knee is burning like crazy. I've got bursitis in both feet, and it's chosen now to start playing up. I've also just been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, on top of everything else. However, my onset is fairly atypical, and my doctor is worried that there is something else going on.

My doctor has increased my topamax in the hopes that it will help knock the sensitivity on the head again, and I have an appointment for next week to discuss my stimulator revision surgery. Just hope something helps, because I'm going a bit mad here :(
CRPS since 1999, diagnosed in 2005 and since spread to full body, spasms, dystonia & contractures, gastroparesis, orthostatic hypotension.

On Oxycontin/Endone, Topamax, Mobic, Magnesium, Florinef, Somac, Cipramil. Have a spinal cord stimulator, intrathecal pump with baclofen & bupivacaine and doing physio.
