My name is Carla Royal and I am 50 years old. I have suffered from headaches since I was 6 (at least that's when my mother first remembers me complaining of them). And I have suffered from fibromyalgia and Chronic Myofascial Pain for the last 11 years. The pain is everyday, all day long, though it varies in intensity. I was a psychotherapist for 20 years before transitioning to life coaching, and now I have an interest in helping folks transform their relationship to pain. Before I can do that, I must deeply understand what folks with chronic pain are going through. Would you have 5-10 minutes to spare in order to help me? I have created a 6-question anonymous survey in order to help me understand what folks are dealing with.

I hope this an appropriate request to make here. I would deeply appreciate your feedback.

Warmly,

Carla

   Hello bdarly!

        Welcome to the CP forum!

Well, we have a few rules here on the CP forum, and one of them is to get permision from the site admin for surveys such as this. Have you done so? If not here is his email address so that you may contact him.

webmaster@healingwell.com  His first name is Peter.

If and when you recieve permission, I'm sure the members will consider your request.

         Good luck to you!

Carla, if you are given permission by the administrator for your survey please be sure to say in your post that the administrator has given his permission, thanks.

Thank you, Screaming Eagle and straydog! I will contact the administrator immediately about this. Meanwhile, is there a way to delete my thread? I do not want to misuse this forum.

Yes, straydog, I think that would be best until I hear from Peter. Thanks!

bdarly, I might suggest that you read the forum rules, until you recieve an answer back from the Admin. Also the Chronic Pain 101 at the top of our forum page holds some very good reading.

One of the reasons you have to get permission from the Admin for such surveys, is that there can be no financial gain to be made by the poster. For instance if you were to lets say, advertise a service for hire along with the survey, that would violate the rules here on the forum.

Again, good luck to you! wink

Thanks, Screaming Eagle. I have promptly read them both. Chronic Pain 101 is a very helpful resource.

I am not selling anything or any service with this survey. I'm really trying to get at what folks' biggest concerns are with chronic pain, and eventually, I hope to craft a service/support for folks to meet a need, but I'm only at the research stage right now. I've spent my entire life with chronic pain and in the last few years I have come to a place of deep acceptance and even joy. I did not think this was possible a few years back. Right now, I want to understand what other folks are going through. Everyone's experience and story are so very different. I am intrigued by how folks cope and how differently folks cope. Chronic pain runs in my family, too. So interesting to see the different ways we manage. I have not given up hope for being pain-free one day, but there is a balance between searching and accepting. I spent so many years contracting in the face of the pain and it almost cost me my life. More and more, I'm learning to expand and I feel such deep gratitude.

Anyway, I'm rambling now! Thanks for your recommendations.
