I am so touched!
I think this made my birthday (though a bit belatedly) the best of all! So many wonderful and touching wishes from my family here. Without all of you some days I think I would have lost my fight. You've answered my questions, been a shoulder to cry on, offered me friendship and understanding unconditionally, and shown me more compassion then some of those who have shared my life. As you well know I already got my best present of all; my surgery date.
It was a nice quiet day for me, spent around the critters at my friends house, and my family. My son got me some wonderful aloe socks, since he knows I like soft socks on my feet pretty much year round. Also he got me some lovely lemon/sage foot lotion -- summer's coming, and he knows his Momma well. The card alone he picked out for me was super touching; I'm one lucky Mommy!
I've been staying off line alot lately to help with my pain levels, as well as stay motivated. I'm guessing my anti-depressants may finally be kicking in, at least when it comes to motivation-wise. 2 outta 3 projects done! I haven't felt this accomplished in awhile.
The surgeon's office called me Friday with all my nitty gritty details. All the stuff I can't have after midnight, the day before pre-registering I'll have to do, and being at the hospital by 6am the morning of the 11th. That'll mean being up at 4am, so my Mom and I can make the hour and a half drive to get to the hospital on time. I'll probably stay over night -- some how I don't feel I should be in a rush to leave the hospital, as supposedly if all goes well and I feel fine, I can leave later that day with the surgeon's okay. I'll be sure to take my Netbook with me as well as my iPhone.
As an Easter present it looks like we might get a couple of Silkie chicks from my friend who hatched the day before my birthday. I can remember when their mother hatched, and their father is a super mellow, super submissive "nekkid neck" Silkie, where as their mother is a Japanese/Silkie cross. Both are pure white, and the babies when they hatched looked like lil cotton balls with legs, beak, and eyes. They were even the size of a jumbo cotton ball they were so tiny! They won't come home till probably after my surgery, and it gives me time to get their area ready for them.
Thank you, all of you, once again, and gentle hugs for each and everyone of you!!
