Hi all~

I have been hearing from lots of members about closing Koffee Klatch, Chat nights, asking members to leave, etc. I'm not sure where all of the rumors are coming from but let me share what is really happening.

First off, I love this forum and the people who are members here. I came here many years ago with a lot of pain and fear. Over time the fear has gone but unfortunately the pain hasn't. I will say I've learned a lot more about how to handle it whether it be with medications or alternative paths. Without the wonderful friends here I'd be lost. I've made many wonderful friends along the way and continue to enjoy the friendships daily.

When I wanted to start doing a daily post that everyone could participate in it was met with questions by others around HealingWell. It had never been done before and some wondered if it got too far 'off topic'. My response was that even people who are suffering and in pain like to think about something besides their pain. With the admin's blessing I went ahead with it and it's been a blast!

But recently I heard from several people about conflicting stories flying around so I thought it best to set the record straight. I started the Koffee Klatch several years ago...can't really remember how many but at least 5 I think. (sorry, but with fibro this foggy brain just can't remember... smilewinkgrin ) The participation has always been good but over time the responses to the Koffee Klatch and often the Chat nights dwindled and in the summer months there often were no responses. All of this is very normal. So I started giving the Koffee Klatch a summer break. It was a good decision all around! The amount of time members spend on the forum in the warmer months is always lower so it only made sense. I kept posting and did my moderator chores but gave the KK a rest.

Then in the fall when my head was rested and others were spending more time on the forum I would start the KK up again, hopefully with something new and fresh added to it. I shared all of this with Dani since she so graciously has been doing the KK and Chat that I began.

Also, in the summer months the Chat night dropped off too so I would give it a break if I saw it was getting down to me and one other person..another moderator...lol That's not what chat is all about. Just recently I suggested to Dani to go ahead and give Chat night a break too.

The only comments I ever had about this decision in the past were positive which is why I made the suggestion for this summer too. SO.... if you hear something about Chat night or the KK going away til fall or that I asked someone to leave the forum you now know the truth straight from the horse's mouth. tongue Once information passes through several people it's like the old game of telephone...lol The end result is nothing like what the message started out to be. wink

If anyone has any questions about my suggestions or something they might have heard, please feel free to email me and I'll be happy to listen and try to explain what's going on in this wonderful CP forum.

Warm hugs,

I must be out of the loop, as I never hear anything from any horse at all! :)

Kidding:)

Thanks for posting.

I enjoy KK, but I actually am planning on being on more this summer, so I will be sad if it goes on a break.

Hugs

Oh Dani. I will gladly email you all if I have any ideas. I will definitely be here summer, winter, spring, fall. I took that break, and i don't care to take another one lol. i missed you all so much. I just couldn't do it again, unles of course i was in the hospital or something. I'll be here everyday unless i'm sick or something. You all are so awesome at giving love, support, anything. I don't really know how i got by without you all. My husband is here, but he's only one person and has appointments to go to,and he can't be my only support. We have one friend left and he is hardly around. You guys are it besides my husband, so i'm depending on you guys a lot. i know you'll be here for me. God bless everyone.

Maybe we could do just a Friday Koffee Katch...and in October,
I'll make it the Freaky Friday Koffee Katch, as I like doing those in October...
I'm a big time Halloween fan, black cats and all....We still should keep the weekly
update on Mondays...can Dani do those????

Going to weekly sounds good for the kk. I really enjoy when there is a topic I like. If I don't comment I read. As I pull away from outside responsibility I also end up pulling away from outside people. I enjoy having someonr to "talk to" .
