My new PM Doctor really wants me to do water PT, but I have an extreme water phobia
and can't talk about it, as I talked a little about it with my husband and we had to come home
early from shopping as I was crying so bad..my pm psychologists said he'd talk to this
new doctor about this...no way/ no how am I doing water stuff right now this phobia/fear is
bad.....low back is giving me spasms and with my left foot falling asleep on me more often...

On top of that the bill for me to take that stupid drug test is $113. as my insurance is
charging it to my deductable (outlandish!) going to fight that...

and trying to get a new bed

All this has me really upset, and we need a new bed, Mattress firm has a new coconut infused bed in a plush firm
(not a pillow top), plus the adjustable base to keep my acid reflux down is going to costs $2,600 to 2,800
a sleep number p7 would run us around $3,400...dagnab it these things are pricy...and no more flips
out there...I just can't do the tempur-pedic they are too hard...so hard..
just one good week is all I ask...

I'm so sorry that your new PM dr. is so pushy Chart. ((((((((hugs))))))) That's crazy trying to push water things on you when you are so afraid of it. Try to calm down. We're all here for you.

The beds are outrageously expensive. That's bad. I hope you can find one that you can afford really soon.

You take care and I hope you're having a low pain night.

love and hugs

Hi Chart

Well I do not blame you in the least if you have a problem with water, water therapy is the last thing you should be doing!  Please do not feel bad about that Chart, I personally have flunked out of aqua therapy before, a long time ago, when I first herniated and tore my T-12 disk, the doctor wanted me to go to aqua therapy so I went and all the therapy did was make my condition worse, and the therapist told me not to come any more and told me not to come back till the doctor desides to fix me!  Well they would not do surgery so then they put me on the pain meds. and disability but I never went back to aqua therapy!. I can see where aqua therapy would be good for some conditions but for others it just does not work that well, and  like everything else it has to be individualized according to the person and what is wrong with them.
Chart I have an adjustable bed I can not lay flat to sleep because of my back, I sleep in a fowlers position,  I had slept in a recliner for close to 10 years, and a few years ago we adjustable beds they are extra long singles that when put side by side fit into a extra long King size sleigh bed frame. Each bed has its own wireless remote and they are great. I know at that time my wife  ( now ex) had gotten one type of mattress and I got a different type there was a slight difference in thickness but the beds have adjustable legs so you can adjust the hieght of each one, so they will match so you can  use one king size bed spread or comforter on it and it looks like just one bed. except I put a device on mine to hold the sheet and blanket up off my feet so I would not get spasms in them!  You are right the beds are expensive, I got the beds and matching bed room suite in the divorce!
and the recliner! Ha
Chart I do hope you are feeling better and you get those spasms under control!

Char might be worth finding another PM dr since the first appt and impression of him was not a good one. No sense in wasting time with a dr that you don't care for as I am sure there is more than one hopefully on your plan.

Char have you already met your deductible for this year and do you have a high deductible? I met mine on my first dr appt in jan of this year and got it out of the way, lol.

We tried the Sleep Number bed not long after they came out and we sent that thing back. It kept losing its air and we were waking up with the mattress flat every morning it was awful. The best money we ever spent was buying a 4 inch memory foam topper for the bed, oh I love that thing and it feels so good when you lay down.

I hope you can get calmed down, don't let this get to you, its not worth it. Take care.

Hi Chart. That is ridiculous. It doesn't even make sense for someone to be that cruel. I'm sorry that your doc is being a jerk.

           Wishing you well Chartreux!

Don't forget that you may be able to write off your bed as a medical expense, but Im not sure if it is for a certian type or not.

Sorry you had to go through the stress of a wacky PM shakehead

I'm with Flower on this one. That PM sounds like a jerk. I hope your psychologists is able to talk some sense into him. There are sometimes things we need to face in the treatment of CP, but this isn't one of them. It just doesn't make any sense and how can it help you if it's just going to stress you out the whole time. I hope the suggestions others have given will be helpful. I wish I had more to add. At least I hope you feel better.

I had a long talk with my PM psychologists at my appointment yesterday, and he said he'd talk to
the pm doctor and hopefully things will change, or I'll have to get another pm doctor...I told the
psychologists how it kept me up on Tuesday night and he said to call him if I feel like that again.
Even my Husband though he (PM doc) was a little bullying. I might give this pm doc one more try
I haven't decided yet, I'll see what my psychologist says at my next appointemnt and go from
there. I was finally able to sleep last night and feeling better, not great but better, good news is we
got a bed and set for delivery on 16 May..we got the Leggett and Platt adjustable base with wireless
remote for $1,349 queen size, a good price, the mattress was an okay price, plus two coconut infused
pillows for 79. (orignal price for one pillow is 129.) and a free mattress protector, free delivery and
haul off ...The coconut scent is so so good ,and I almost fell asleep on this bed in the store last night

Hope everyone has a low pain week and many many THANKS.... :-)
