Has anyone been approved for SSDI for having a SCS implant?  If so, are there any suggestions that you would share with me?

thanks

           Hello Rena!

I would think that it won't make any difference if you have the implant or not, as they look at your disability as a whole and whether or not you can earn an income with your physical limitations.

Many of the members will know quite a bit more than me though, so lets see what they have to share about it.

Hi Rena, I have to agree with SE, the implant really is no going to make any difference, it is what the impairment is that causes the disability. As long as your condition is one recognized by SSD that is what matters. They have a website and it lists all the different medical conditions and that would be a good place to go look at and they have a ton of info there too. Also, you can actually file your claim online. Plus you do need to have your drs behind in filing for SSD. What your drs put in your medical records is pretty much a deciding factor. if the medical records are not clear enough, then they can send you to one of their drs for an exam.

I hope this helps you somewhat, good luck.
