I'm sitting on the heat pad on the couch again today, 3 hours after my tramadol and 1 1/2 hours since taking 2 arthritis-strength Tylenol (which I rarely need), shaking, whimpering, pain in arms and shoulders, plus spine and all-over fibro.  Hubby worked last night so nobody to complain to.  He was perturbed I was crabby when he called last night.   Pain doc is on vacation, rheumy too sick himself to help - says go swimming.  PCP not in ofice yet.  There's nothing relatives could do, so no point distressing them.  Not bad enough for ER.

I probably brought this on myself Friday mowing 2 hours (big tractor pulling 6' deck), helped loading a truck with junk for twp. clean-up day, Sat loading another heaping truckload and another hour mowing.  I really need to mow the lower fields today before it rains again.  Can't hire anyone I would trust not to overheat the tractor with grass so high.  Guy I had last year came back all the time with it boiling, did $1000 damage to mower deck.

In desperation I found a Percocet, took with Zofran.  I'll talk with pain doc next month, have an appt. when he comes back.  Sinus surgery early June for chronic infections and headache, so I can't have the recommended shoulder surgery for arthritis spurs any time soon.  Already had the 3 injections I was hoping would last a little longer.   Half of this is fibro anyway, and I just have to wait for it to pass because "fibro-meds" don't work or have intolerable side effects for me.

Ouch!  Just moving arm over to mouse is giving jabs.   Wish I had made up the coffee pot last night.

Ouch Alcie. I'm so sorry that you are in so much pain. I hope that you're feeling better by now. It sounds like the meds you're on do not treat your pain very well. Please be careful and rest today. You take care. I hope you have a low pain night tonight.

love and soft hugs

Thanks guys!
Actually ate breakfast today, which means things are better, and I might even get the salad I need for lunch. Cooking the chicken strips is still a bit much. Tramadol is not helping arm and shoulder pain, which keeps the fibro flaring. I'll have to try Vicodin tomorrow. Can't take it today because I've already taken a tramadol. It would give me serotonin again. I'm trying a Lidocaine patch on the shoulder, but it's not working. I don't think it gets in deep enough to help the arthritis spurs.

I have to be at a dinner this evening and be pleasant, so I'll plan my med schedule to have tramadol and Tylenol on board right before driving there - takes an hour. I need to go out and mow, but if I do I know I won't make it out tonight.

I went through BCBS's "Wellness Activities" on chronic pain, but it basically tells me to think positive and talk to my doctor. I'm not depressed, just in pain, and my doc's still touring China. I do need a change in meds or something I can take for these flares.
