I am lost and discouraged, just hoping to find some help wherever I can. I just had my 4th knee surgery. The orthopedic surgeon is well known and knowledgable. Unfortunately for me, he has no clue why I continue to have pain when bending my knee. It is a sharp shooting pain that will not go away. My first two knee surgeries were done by the best ortho surgeon in Baja California, Mexico. My 3rd and 4th have been this year and all unsuccessful. It was a gradual pain that caused my initial injury. I ran on it for months before it progressed and then I couldn't even walk right. My knee is clean, no meniscus tears, no cartilage dammage. My surgeon said the patella tendon looked okay. If I lift my leg up (at a 90 degree angle) off the ground, i cannot lift my shin up to a 180 degree angle. I have no strength and have lost a lot of muscle. I know I am a special case and there is something wrong with me that is unusual. Please if anyone out there has experienced something similar please share. Thank you for reading this and thank you for your time.

Hello Loan!

Welcome to the "Chronic Pain" forum!

We have several knee problem members, and maybe one of them will see this post, and give you some ideas. Sorry, but I just don't have any experience in that area.

I'm sorry that you're hurting. Are you being taking care of with pain med's? It certainly sounds like you should be getting help in that area.

Please check back with us, and do let us know what you find out, as it too, may help someone else here in the future.

Again welcome!

Take care,

Welcome to the forum Loan. I'm sorry that you're still in so much pain after 4 surgeries. I'm sorry I don't have any suggestions. I do have osteoarthritis in both knees and bursitis in my left hip, but that might not be your problem with your knee. I hope you find some answers and relief really soon. You take care.

big soft hugs

Hi and Welcome to the Chronic Pain family! I too am so sorry for the suffering you are experiencing. The pain must be so hard to handle but sometimes the emotional pain is nearly as bad. It's obvious that this has totally shattered your lifestyle too.

I don't have experience with this type of problem but we do have members who do. Others will be by to share and hopefully you will find something helpful. In the mean time always feel free to ask and answer any question or comment you choose. Once you walk through the door you are 'Family'.

Hugs,
