These are my mri results from my low back pain and i am having trouble understanding what this all means if you can help thanks again.. chris ( mickey1. Multilevel disc desiccation most conspicuous at l5-s1 where a shallow and annular rent contribute to thecal sac effacement. No effacement of the l5 or s1 nerve roots at this level. 2. l2-3 bilobed disc protrusion asymmetric to the left with thecal sac effacement, mild left lateral recess stenosis. No acute right-sided extrusion to correlate with provided history of right knee pain. 3. no acute vertebral fractures or microtrabecular stress reaction. 4. multilevel lumbar spondylosis. as i mentioned i have no idea what this means. I know many of u have and still do suffer back pain, and i,m sorry, but can someone please help me.. what treatment mite i have done. So far I,ve had the shots, ablation and now dr. wants to shoot dye to see where the problem really is. he keeps telling me i need a spinal fusion. am going for a second opinion the 27th of this month. would love to hear from anyone. Thanks so much.... Chris

OK!..this should get you back to where you wanted to be! Again, my mistake! Sorry! blush SE

How is your pain? cause, I would tell you to put off surgery for as long as you can as
once surgery, always surgery...but go and see what your doctor thinks and then get
a second opinion, always seek out another opinion for what best options for you might
be, we consider this a family site and we are not doctors but will offer up support...
Others, will come by with better advice, so listen well....do a google search on lower
lumbar spinal stenosis for now, and again wait and see what your doctor says...
Hope you can get a low pain day soon...
well wishes
