So I've posted on here a bit before and I've gone through all these diagnoses but I recently tested positive for HLB27 (Well not recently like twice a few months back), as well as low sed-rate and a definitive connective tissue disorder. Anyways I've been having pretty moderately bad pain in my thoracic region of my spine and neck. I also get random numness in the back of my leg now I always did but I figured I just was inflexible (which is true but still) and occasional shooting pain down my right arm. Anyways my internist thinks its ankylosing spondylitis she refuses to even give me Tylenol #3 for pain because she wants to rule out that its not part of my anxiety... she hates bones but she said she needs to see a better X-ray and an MRI of my spine showing some solid physical evidence before she uses "The Big Guns" like Hydrocodone....anyways she refereed me to an orthopaedic surgeon who happens to be right next door (the two practices actually share an MRI, X-ray and CT machine! :O ) but as you can guess the orthopaedic practice is PACKED. There's 8 MD's and like 10 PA's/NP's too...anyways I've read up on it a bit but I'm just curious on what to expect here. At the moment I seriously just want to crawl up in a ball and like cry. Currently I take Naproxen 550mg bid with Tylenol here and there, I take Klonopin for sleep related to anxiety and muscle relaxation and I have a lidocaine patch on the area but its still just throbbing and I can't keep my head up straight without pain which is usual but now its really bad and has been for two days. Any responses appreciated! Thanks in advance...

(Worth mentioning: My mom has rheumatoid arthritis and my dad has degenerative disc disease with like 3 buldging discs and a few surgeries under his belt and constant pain.)

You'll probably be told you need mri's maybe of your whole spine...cervical problems can be what's going
down your arms, and you might be asked to get emg testing done...but make sure you get second opinions
For now try either ice packs or heating pad to see which one helps the most, maybe try a one mg melatonin for sleeping
as it can help....keep us posted and well wishes

HLB27 is the genetic identifier for AS...though it's not by any means 100% correct.

Today i was going to work out then run but havent been able to in 2 or 3 days and today I'm just laying in bed. I seriously would not make this up for 9million dollars I'm dizzy and just have constant pain in my neck and back. I took naproxen and Klonopin 45 mins ago so I'm hoping that'll help. This is seriously frustrating and turning kind of scary. I think it's weird it's getting worse
