So a very strange day...I fell asleep last night at 2a, and slept all night, but I woke up very tired. I could hardly keep my eyes open. I went to work and must have fallen asleep at my desk more than a few times. Good thing I am a one person office and we were not busy at all today. Weird thing is I was not in pain today and also didn't take any pain meds today either.

Now off work and of course I am in pain and ready for bed and its only 7pm...I don't know what to make of any of this...I guess I'm just plain old crazy :)

For what it is worth you are not the only one who has days like this. I go through this a couple of times a month. IMHO, with me at least, I think it has a lot to do with not getting much rest most of the time and it all catching up with me.

As you alluded to though, my pain levels seem to drop dramatically during these periods. It would be so nice to be able to have the very low pain "days" without the excessive sleepiness though.

I think Jim1969 hit it, some days for reasons we cant fathom, I will sleep all day.  I guess since we are sleeping, the pain is not right out there throbbing.  I am not sure what the reason is.  All I know is although I dont want to sleep my life away, it sure is nice to be somewhat "normal", even for a brief little while.

Hi luckyflowers,

Sleepiness isn't rare with chronic pain or with medications we take. Anyone who has to live in pain day after day is going to feel tired. But you sound like you're way beyond what it should be. One thing you might want to look into is the combination of medications you are taking. Many of those are very strong and if you take them in combination then it's amazing you can function at all. If I'm out of line here then I do apologize, but I take narcotic pain medications and know how you can get slammed by them. The combination of oxy, percocet and vicodin would concern me along with the anti-seizure meds. Just me being a worrier...
