Ok...I fully realize that abuse is a serious situation out in the world and it makes it more difficult for those of in real pain...Just want to make this my caveat before you read this funny:)

I go with my mom once a week to shop for our Organic groceries...on the way, I had to stop by the Vet to pick up a prescription for my doggy (yellow lab) who has hip dysplasia....He is on Tramadol 50mg twice a day for his pain (he is 75 pounds).

In VA, Tramadol is now a controlled substance..

I get in the car and mention to my mom that because it was such a hot day...I would put the prescription bottle in my purse to keep it from melting...(don't know if it could happen...don't want to find out..lol)...

I say to my mom that I am doing this because being a controlled substance...if it melted...they may not believe me...and my poor doggy would suffer...

She says.."I don't get that..what would they question...how is it a controlled substance if it's for dogs"...

She is thinking...'it's a dog medicine..how do they control the dogs taking it?'..

So I say that this particular medicine is used by both dogs and humans...

She says.."Ohhhh...I was thinking up this funny scenario that your dog is down the street trying to sell the Tramadol to the Beagle in exchange for  Milk Bones"..

The image in our heads were so funny that we had tears streaming down our face and we could barely breathe!!!!

Ahhh....just have to laugh at things sometimes:)

Thanks for posting! I rarely laugh these days...I needed that! It was truly "laugh out loud" funny! :)

SB...I just turned 43 in Feb...so we are VERY close in age. My mom and I are a hoot together. Well, that's what others tell us anyhow. Good times for sure.
