Doctors still don't know what is causing my chronic pain and swelling. They cut my prednisone to five mgs, and my swelling doubled and pain trippled.

So I am stuck in bed on my iPod.

Not happy at all.

Sorry to here you are having so much pain shanbr. Where is your pain located? Are you on any pain meds or seeing any specialists.
Maybe you can read a book as well while you are in bed.
Keep posting, we are here for you.

take care

Thanks for responding and listening. My pain is everywhere. It hurts in the muscles and the skin. Plus, my arthritis is worse too. :(

I'm on lortab for pain, it does take off some of the pain.

A book is a good idea, the only one I have is my kids Harry potter :)

Thanks for responding, it helps a lot.

Can someone go to the library for you to get some books to read or maybe borrow from a friend or

neighbour. Do you have someone helping you at home? Just do one hour at a time shanbr, live in the now,

it makes it easier to get thru the day. That's what i have to do, don't look ahead.

Can you watch some tv.

Hang in there and keep posting. There will be others coming along soon to help you as well.

I hope you start feeling better soon. I am also stuck resting right now, recovering from surgery. Last week I went out one day since i was stir crazy, I am still paying for it dearly. Keep relaxed and doing gentle stretches as you are able. There are tons of basic exercises you can do just to maintain your strength right in your bed. I use "theraband" alot, there are resources for exercises made just for this. The main thing is not to let the back and leg muscles tighten up. They are sure a bugger to loosen up once they do and will cause you great pain. Check with your dr to make sure you are not restricted from any specific movements though, just to make sure.

I hope you get some answers soon, I think not knowing makes things so much more frustrating.

Big hugs,

Thanks for all the responses.

I can get my husband to go to the library for me if I ask. He and my daughter are very helpful when I need. She is 17. I have been sick her whole life which makes me sad cuz she doesn't know what it is like to have her mom feeling great like other moms. She has had to help take care of me during down times and it just bugs me.

I live day to day, sometimes it gets frustrating. I do ok, but sometimes I have a breakdown knowing that more than likely, i will never be able to cook family dinners, go shopping with my kid, visit places around the US that I always wanted to see and I can't visit my parents back home 2,000 miles away. They are in their 70s and I worry I will never see them before they die.

It's frustrating, been 6 yrs now trying to find out what's wrong. I just hope somebody finds something soon.

God bless you all and have a smurf smurfy day lol :)

Shanbr,

I so hate to hear of all this. Should you be looking into finding another Dr.? I mean have you been with the same one this whole time?? It just seem a long time with no answers. I am happy to hear that you have some help. But it seems like something needs to give.

Other than that, everyone has pretty much covered it. But keep posting we are here for ya!
