Hi everyone

I got the scripts in the mail Tuesday for my fentanyl patches and oxycodone, as I had called last Friday and told the receptionist that I needed them refilled. Well. they didn't have the preapproval number on them, and I told her to make sure the number is on there I called yesterday and told her that they didn't put the number on them. She said she would get the nurse to call me.

I never heard from the nurse, so I thought maybe she called the pharmacy with it. So today, I got Jerome to take the scripts over to the pharmacy because I am supposed to change my last patch today.

I got him to go pick them up and he had the oxycodone but no patches. i called over to the pharmacy and they told me they had to order the brand name because my insurance wants me to have the brand name.

They said the patches will be there tomorrow or Saturday at the latest. I'm sitting here wondering if the script will go thru when the patches arrive at the pharmacy. I forgot to ask if the doctor's office had called in the approval number.

God please don't let this happen again. The pharmacist didn't say anything about an approval number, so I'm guessing that he had the number or that the insurance doesn't want it this time.

If that crap happens again, I'm asking for a once a month appointment just so I can get the things in my hands and make sure everything is right before I leave the office.

I'm so nervous about this. My back is hurting like mad. I guess that's because I was supposed to have a new patch today. So much stress on something so simple. And I know that stress makes the pain worse.

Michael:I 'm wondering what the name of your homeopathic remedy is. I have been taking my oxycodone with Tylenol Arthritis and then Bayer Back and Body.

Well, this is pretty long. I'll go for now. You all take care. I hope you're all having a low pain evening.

love and hugs

I know what your talking about...I can't stand when that happens. It is so frustrating and stressful, that I need meds just for that alone. I don't understand why they can't get it together. It would seem that they do this day in and day out. Why does my RX stuff always get messed up??? I mean really???

I don't know about you, but I even always try to be proactive and do this stuff in advance as I can or when time will allow and my meds still get messed up. So trust me I can feel your pain. I sure hope it all works out.

I hate to think of you going through this when it could be avoided. Hang in there.

My dear Loretta
I am praying that you can pick up your patches on Saturday.

Try to take deep breaths and exhale. In thru your nose and out thru the mouth..like blowing out birthday candles.
I should take my own advice...lol.

Try to relax tonight..worrying wont change anything...it just makes your muscles tighter.

Hang in there

Hey Loretta, this is Kathy (aka nini53), just wanted to let you know I will be praying for you to get those patches on time.
This is just a suggestion, but I am wondering, if its not to difficult for you, maybe you should go on and go to a monthly visit for your prescriptions.  The reason being, as much stress you have to go thru each time, whether the doctor called, the nurse did her job, etc. in other words all those who have control over your life when it comes to getting your medicine.
I am sure you know how all that stress just makes the pain that much worse.  It might be worth going in once a month just so you dont end up wondering and waiting for the mailperson to show up to deliver your mail.
Again, just a thought, I am not sure if you are able to get to your doctor each month or any other problems you might have getting to your pm doctor once a month.  But think about it, it will most definetly help your stress level.
Hoping and praying your get your patches when you are supposed to, also hoping and praying you are having, and will continue to have low pain days.  Good luck to you, my thoughts are with you.

Aww..Loretta...I am so sorry that there is yet another mix up:(..

May I ask why they can't mail you two months worth of prescriptions...the 2nd being 'post dated' for the following month....

I see my PM every 3 months...I leave that day with two sets of prescriptions...One I am filling that day....the next I fill the following month after 30 days...Then I drive and pick up the next months at the front desk....And then the following month is my appt....

Is there not any way they can do this for you by mail or at your appts? I just have never seen such issues month after month that you have to go through...I really feel for you...

I hope that at your next appt. you and your Dr. can come up with a better plan to minimize these types of problems...

I'm praying that your patches are ready and that you can relax this weekend...Sending you hugs (( ))

My PM doctor will also let me mail order my scripts by a 90 day supply. Medco over nights them to me once they have the script in hand, this is by fedex with signature for delivery. They will also let me have them sent one week early. I havent done his in a while since my meds have been changing so much, but once we figured out the process and rules about dates, when we did it it worked great. Also saved me a copay, 3 months supply thru mail order is 2 months copay instead of 3 like at the pharmacy.

I think i usually saw him every 2 months when we did this and he would just post date appropriately.

Worth asking if you have been on the meds for a while and you dont expect a change.

Hope things all go well for you tomorrow!

Thank you all for the support. I don't know what I would do without you all. You're all awesome family. Yes, I think of you all as my family now.

I posted another post a few minutes ago discussing my meds, so I'll let you all read it, ok?

Take care.
