Hi all

I was supposed to change my last patch yesterday and guess what. I picked my patches up at the pharmacy this afternoon, I have one on now. Yahoooo!!!! It finally worked out this month Praise God. I just can't believe it. What a relief! As you can tell, I'm so happy.

I was ready to scream my head off and call and get a once a month appointment, but I don't have to worry about it. I'm so relieved.

My back is really screaming because I didn't have one on, but I'm sure it will get better as the time goes by tonight.

I was loading up on oxycodone and otc stuff just to get by, but now I don't have to.

I'm confused though. My oxycodone says one tablet twice a day and she only gave me 30 for the month. She did that last month too. I have an appointment with her next Wednesday and will ask her about that.

I just called and I don't have coverage for Medicaid transportation. Now I have to call Tuesday and rescheduke my appointment ahhhhhh!!! One good thing happens and then something else goes wrong,

I also have an appointment on Tuesday with the pulmonologist, and I can't reschedule that appointment until Tuesday. I sure hope they will let me reschedule when I explain what has happened. I have waited so long for that appointment :(

Well, I'll go for now. Everyone take care. I hope you're all having a low pain evening.

love and hugs

First the good news...yea on the patches!!! I hope that starts to help really soon...

That is strange about the Oxycodone prescription..and it sounds like it would be best to ask her about it and fix the prescription...she could give you another for 30 to be picked up after 15 days if you are taking them twice a day..

Is there anyway to get a ride from a neighbor or friend to take you to these appts? That would be a first choice over rescheduling...and just a friendly reminder that they let someone cancel/reschedule their PM appts. only so many times....as it can 'look' bad....I know that is not your case...but some places have actually dismissed people over more than 3 times in a year...

So maybe this weekend you can see if anyone you know can take you to them...maybe even some friends kids that are home from school/college for the summer and you can pay just a few bucks for fun money for them?

Just trying to brainstorm...

But so glad you have your medicines for the holiday weekend:)

Looks like you got to celebrate your "Independence Day" early this year.

As far as your Oxy script goes, is it 1 tablet 2x day, or is it 1 tab 2x a day as needed.

Even if it is written as 1 tab 2x day your doctor may very well be thinking of it as a breakthrough med which could explain why the quantity is 30 instead of 60.

If you are needing to use it more than 30 times in a month then it would be a good idea to talk with the doctor about it, at an appointment. Explain the what and why of things.

Hey Loretta, I am so glad to hear you got your patches, this is great news.  I have no idea where you live, but I take public transportation to get around.  I live in Maryland and am about 10-15 miles from Washington D.C., I also live about 20 miles from Baltimore, I guess my point is this area has plenty of public transportation.

I have been taking public transportation for about 10 years now, and although it is great, I havea a medicare card and that allows me a discount for the bus.  I need to have my doctor fill out some paperwork so I can get what is called Metro Access.  Metro Access will pick you up at your door and take you anywhere you need to go, grocery, drs appt. etc. you only need schedule a day or two ahead of time for them to come get you and bring you home.

I also have talked it over with my youngest daughter and her fiance, and they think I should get my drivers license again.  So after much thought, I decided that is what I am going to do.  I am terrified, I have to take the driving test again, I am not scared of the driving part, just the written part, you know they have trick questions on it.

Well once again I have run on and on about me, when this started as a congrats to you Loretta.

This was great news for you, I am very glad it worked out the way it did for you, hope you will be feeling much better very soon.

Hi Nini We have public transportation here too, and we have used it for 10 years as well. We moved here in 2001, been using it ever since. They also have a thing where they come and pick you up at your house and bring you back. I should call and ask about that. Thanks for the reminder.

Hi Snowbunny. I hadn't thought about asking our friend if he minded taking me to the appointments. Thanks for the idea. I'll call and ask him. We only have one friend that keeps in touch, and I don't know any teenagers to ask.

Hi Jim. I am celebrating Independence Day early lol.

Thank you all for replying to my good news. I hope you're all 3 having a low pain evening. Take care.

love and hugs

Nini53, I have taken written exams for driver's licenses in 3 states and the written exam for a commercial driver's license twice here in IL and I from what I have seen is that they are all very easy to pass so long as you do two things.

1. Read and study the rules of the road book
2. Carefully read the question and ALL the answers before answering. Where 99% of people who miss a question do so at is because they miss an important word like "not" in either the question or answer. Most of the multiple choice questions have 2 answers that are really stupid and 2 that are "possible" with one of them being the opposite of what the question is really asking.

Oh and check the web site for which ever department in your state handles motorist services. Many states now have online practice tests.
