Just a quick one from me.

I'm back in hospital. I was meant to be coming in today for just a few hours for my cervical sympathetic block, but my leg blew up last night with cellulitis again, so my doctor is keeping me in for a few days of IV antibiotics.

Block doesn't seem to have done much. I know he hit the right spot because my arm warmed up. When I woke up it was completely numb and paralysed, but as that's worn off the pain has come back in spades. My neck and shoulder are in spasm too, despite my baclofen and them having given me something else for muscle pain.

None of this helped by Mum and I being in a minor car accident on the way to the hospital this morning... We were rear-ended while stopped at traffic lights. She's hurt her back and I've hurt my neck. Just another bad day in the march of bad days :(
CRPS since 1999, diagnosed in 2005 and since spread to full body, spasms, dystonia & contractures, gastroparesis, orthostatic hypotension,bradycardia/tachycardia, bone spurs, bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome.

On Oxycontin/Endone, Topamax, Mobic, Magnesium, Florinef, Somac, Cipramil. Have a spinal cord stimulator, intrathecal pump with baclofen & bupivacaine and doing physio.

So sorry to hear that you are in the hospital. I hope the IV antibiotics do the trick quickly and that your neck calms down a bit from the fender bender. I also hope that your Mom is feeling better and doesnt have any lasting injuries!

Big Hugs!

I had no idea that you were in the hospital...so sorry to hear that.

I hope that very soon the doctors can manage your pain for you.

When you have a fender bender the first 24 hours the aches and pains start to appear. I will pray for you and your mother to get the strength and fortitude to get you two through the next time period, forever how long.

Hang in there and I will be thinking of you

Laura,

A few days ago, I was going to post to see how you are doing....because you've been quiet.  So, I really hate to hear this set-back for you!  I am glad that they are keeping you to give you IV antibiotics; while I know it's horrible being in the hospital - I want your infection to be taken care of and this is the best place for that.

I also can't believe you and your mom were rear-ended.  I am so sorry, Laura!  Is your mom doing ok?  I sure hope so.

I don't know if I ever posted this to you or not??  I'm sorry that my memory is so horrible.  But I spent a few hours one day, reading your blog.  You've done such a wonderful job putting everything together.  While I'm sorry for everything you've had to endure - you've done such a wonderful thing by putting information together for other people (and just by documenting your journey....I, myself, find it therapeutic to write my experiences down).  Anyway, I learned so much from your blog - and wanted you to know that.  I also loved your drawings and teddy bears on your blog smilewinkgrin

Please keep us updated when you are up to it.  Until then, many thoughts and prayers coming your way, Laura.  Hang in there.  You are a really strong woman.  --Tina
