Had a couple mostly pain free days  Got alot done Went out to dinner for our 41st anniv  . Had a nice dinner  Now today miserable again  My back and insides hurt so bad and I hate taking pain meds. So afraid I will run out and will need them even more than today.. How can I expect my husband to understand when I dont even know whats wrong.. I am so discouraged and it is causing me to have some kind of awful anxiety attacks. Was up most of night hurting, worrying, and stressing.. I just want to feel normal again  But I dont think it will happen more than a day or so at a time  It never completely goes away  But yesterday I could block it out.. HELP  i feel so alone.. and I know people dont want to hear " I dont feel good today "What can I do ?

Hey kimshee.. you're not alone. That's what everybody here is for. On a bad day you come here to get a pick-me-up and on a good day you come to help be a pick-me-up. Right now in the middle of a heatwave I have to can a bushel of greenbeans. And no I don't have air-conditioning. If my family doesn't enjoy eating those beans then they're going to wear those beans! I can hardly move and my teenagers can't figure out why they had to fix dinner! At 17 & 16 they are old enough to make a box of hamburger helper. Hope your day gets better.

Kimshee it stinks dealing with CP and that pretty much is how it can go for many of us. Have a fairly good day and go out and try to do some things and then the next day we pay for it. Sometimes it makes us feel like we are riding on a runaway roller coaster. Congrats on the anniversary, I am glad that you were able to go out for dinner and enjoyed it.

You said you are afraid of running out of medication. Does your dr not give you a 30 day supply so that you don't run out?

I have to agree with you on the husband or anyone else for that matter understanding what its like dealing with CP. I know sometimes I get frustrated and think to myself, if I can't understand i,t how can anyone else. When I get in that mode I am not fit to be around either, lol.

Try to relax, getting worked up and stressed out will not do you any good or make you feel better either. I know its hard, but you will pull through, some how we always do.

Take care.

Congrats kimshee on your 41 st anniversary! We are hitting 15 this September, it seems unusual anymore for people my age to be married, all I here about is divorces.

You really should talk to your doctor about the dosage he has prescribed not helping like it should. It doesnt sound like taking 2 at once was his intention, maybe I am mistaken. Usually that would mean spaced apart a certain amount of time. I would hate for the dr to refuse refilling the script for you for some reason.

I hope that your dr can get to the bottom of why you feel so bad so you can have some sort of plan to get some relief.

Big hugs,

Are you seeing a PM dr by chance? If so, it sounds like you have one that only wants to do procedures and injections and no meds. There are two kinds of PM drs, one like I just described and the other will do the same but will also write scripts for pain meds if he/she feels they are warranted. If you are under the care of a PM dr, then it sounds like maybe you need another opinion with a PM dr because basically it sounds like your pain and you are being under-treated, there is such a thing. When a person suffers with pain, the idea is not for the patient to just suck it up and deal with it, it does not work that way.

You can get into trouble if you take more than what is prescribed because you will run short and we all know what happens if you ask for a refill too soon. You may want to rethink your dr situation.

Take care and I hope you pain quietens down.

I'm sorry you're feeling so bad. I'm sorta feeling like crap today too, and I hate just telling everyone about how "I hurt," and getting the weird looks they do on cue now. It is hard for others to understand, especially with chronic pain, because you can't really 'see' the pain or the illness like you can with other things. But it's still there, and just as severe as any other physical ailment can be. So don't feel bad for wanting to talk to people about it.

I agree that you need to consult with a pain management doctor. Perhaps a different or adjusted medication would help you, or maybe you need a combination of it with something else. Maybe physical therapy?

Also, I know the stress and pain is really tough to deal with, but if you're getting really depressed and down you may want to see a therapist if you can. I have one for mental problems that I deal with normally, but the pain affects your mind too--and really can mess you up and get you anxious or depressed. (Or both at once!) Talking to someone like a therapist helps me, because I know she listens and understands the situation I am in. I never feel like I am whining when I talk with her, its just like I am bouncing my feelings and thoughts off of someone. Just an idea.

I really hope you find something to help you, and I hope you keep posting on here. :)

Hi Kimshee It does sound like you need to talk to your doctor about seeing a pain management doctor, but make sure that they prescribe meds because part of them do and part of them don't. I wish you good look with getting your pain under control really soon. You take care and welcome to the cp forum.

hugs
